Yesterday, I had the honour of standing as a witness as my friends made it official at their court/civil wedding. 🤍 by @mrcl3fwilson_

I didn’t choose the music. My dad did.

I was a teenager when my dad decided all four of us boys had to join the musical group in church. At the time, I honestly didn’t understand why. I was just there thinking, “What am I even doing here?” 😂

I started with the piano, but I was so lost. My cousin tried to teach me and absolutely nothing made sense, so I eventually stopped trying to learn an instrument. I stayed in the choir, though - singing, sight-reading, and just growing up around music without realising how much it was preparing me.

I grew up hearing my cousin play the violin and my cousins rehearsing and figuring out melodies. So even when I wasn’t playing anything, my ears were being trained.

A few years later, one of Church brother decided he was going to teach me the guitar.

That first Day was HARD. 😭

But then I heard that first proper guitar tone and thought, “Wait… this is actually beautiful.”

I kept rehearsing. He kept teaching. And slowly, I fell in love with it.

Looking back, I’m so grateful my dad made it compulsory. What felt like “Why am I being forced to do this?” became something that shaped the way I hear, create and express myself.

And outside Work, music is one of the things I love most.

But what makes it even more special is getting to play for God.

There’s something about playing a meaningful song in church, getting lost in a solo and sometimes even crying while playing it. It feels like a conversation between me, the music and God.

It became a place where I could put work and everything else aside, and simply play, worship and give back to God with the gift He gave me.

So this is my little guitar church archive.
I still love watching them.

Now I want you to listen too. 🎸🤍

Just a random rehearsal… but this one was special.

We were rehearsing “ IMELA and somehow everything just came together so beautifully.

My younger brother singing, and the rest of the boys just doing what we love.

Nothing serious. Just music, family, church and good vibes. 🤍🎸

A little unexpected fill-in.🎸
