A visual reminder to myself and to be kind along the way.
Philomath.
Matcha lover.
Not a man.

$She came to us during the pandemic. Her mother left her in front of our house and walked away. Two weeks of fending for herself, and we slowly persuaded her to eat the kibbles we left at the gate, then the door, then inside the house to play with Rio. She was a blessing to us; a princess and a street fighter. She would never miss an opportunity to rummage through the bin if she thought there was a chicken bone to be had. The accident last week caused multiple fractures, a broken jaw and a split palate. One eye had to be removed. The palate became infected. She refused to eat. She was put on two different painkillers and the strongest antibiotics. As much as we wanted her to remain with us, my sister and I couldn't deny that any further procedure would only prolong the inevitable, and she would suffer all the longer. We chose to euthanise Kitty this afternoon. I had my farewells, and bawled my eyes out at the clinic, enough to scare some children who happened to be outside the consultation room. It was quick. Kitty, we love you in this life and the next. by @mrcoddlywobbles$

Kitty was hit by a car at lunch today. She's been warded for serious head injuries.

We're hoping for the best, but even the best case scenario doesn't look very good.

I rarely do cat videos, and this is one of the few I have of hers.

I don't know if we'll ever get to cuddle again.

May Allah ease her pain quickly, one way or the other. by @mrcoddlywobbles

So chuffed with the latest bread baby. by @mrcoddlywobbles

“And when it is said to them ‘Do not cause corruption on the earth’ they say ‘We are but reformers.’ Unquestionably, it is they who are the corrupters, but they perceive it not” [Surah Al-Baqarah 2:11-12] by @mrcoddlywobbles

2025 in six pictures;

1) So much coding. So, so much.

2) Made bread pudding. Finally finished those mixed nuts and raisins.

3) A bit of cuti-cuti Malaysia. Yeah, didn't expect to find a Javanese ancestral house in Muar, didja?

4) Much lounging around with cats. They are clearly concerned about me. Or their food supply, I couldn't tell.

5) Tried to walk at the park more. I am less sad when I go out more. But I don't feel like going out when I'm sad. Urgh.

6) That stint at the hospital. I'm putting it here so I don't forget. About the truly important things in life.

Your own health.
The health of people you care about.
And the community that keeps everything going, when it's all going wrong for you.

It's a few hours before we usher in 2026.

(The fireworks have started, and I need to find my cats.)

Happy New Year everyone! 🎉 by @mrcoddlywobbles

I built my own Porsche. Thanks to @mrdiy2u. by @mrcoddlywobbles

There are people counting on this.

Because colonisers and their ilk got away with it last time.

If you're sick of our government rewriting Malaysian history, but are absolutely okay with western government doing the same to other nations, then I have to wonder...

Rest.
Sleep.
Then wake up again.

Your body knows when you're lying.
Your body knows when you're pretending.

There's no wellness practice that will take away the truth.

And the truth is, humankind is all we've got.

We either keep each other safe.

Or the worst of us will oppress the rest. by @mrcoddlywobbles

I'm seeing some people fall into despair.

I saw a post claiming that "the world has always been sh*t", and then just wanting to escape it all.

Rest. Take turns. But don't quit.

Resistance can exist even in the smallest of actions.

Even on the verge of death, with a noose around one's neck.

Because resistance requires community.

No one is meant to do any of this alone. by @mrcoddlywobbles

Look at this big Bebe 😘

I planted the pineapple top way back in Feb 2021, feels like a lifetime ago.

Considering all the mistakes and neglect, the pineapple really pushed through anyway.

I picked the wrong spot, it was too close to the wall.

I didn't water or fertilise it at all.

It sat there quietly, until I noticed a little fruit coming through earlier this year.

What a luxury we have now, to be able to eat pineapples whenever we like. When it takes at least 3 years to grow.

Anyway, now the biggest question is when can we pluck it off the plant.
