One of the ways we keep moving forward with purpose is through creativity.

We keep our eyes open to the beauty around us that draws us closer to him and helps us grow consistently in knowing Him.

Creating Connection & Cultivating Community has saved our marriage and has helped us in the brightest and darkest of days.
As we celebrate 15 Years of marriage our hope is that when going through hard times you will remember you are not alone.

Moments like these make us think about eternity: what our family would look like. As a way to honour who our children are, alive with God and forever in our hearts, we created this creative family portrait.

This is the Lucima Family.

Even though we have hard moments that we have walked through, we take hope knowing our little girl, Aurora, is with our Father God and her 5 other siblings in heaven. We now have 6 kids who have hit the target of heaven and 2 here on earth living life to the full.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men's hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy]” Ecclesiastes 3:11

Last week we had a hard week…
As you read this part of our story, we pray that you will be encouraged. Know that you can keep on standing - not because we have all the answers but because we cling to and draw close to the One, the Person known as Jesus who covers all, comforts, councils and loves us so much. He understands all things and his peace is present even when we don’t understand our circumstances.

Last week during a normal OBGYN appointment we found out our baby had no heartbeat. The doctor scheduled Emily for an induction on Wednesday.

We took time to go home that night and believe God for a creative miracle as we have done with all our children. We prayed that our baby’s heart would beat again because in all things our posture is to look to God and believe that God is who He says He is.

Wednesday morning, we went to hospital and asked them to do one more ultrasound. They agreed to and did one early Wednesday afternoon. The results came back and confirmed that our baby had no heartbeat.

They gave Emily the medication for an induction. Nurses said it could be painful and take days sometimes - so we were praying for both baby and placenta to be delivered safely. Thankfully, Emily delivered with no complications. Both baby and placenta were delivered safely.

IT’S A GIRL!!!

Father shows his love in all the details. Thursday morning May 9, 2024 our daughter was born just before dawn… We said hello & goodbye to her with a beautiful sunrise. It was fitting that the name we had already chosen for her means ‘dawn’.

Today I released a song called “Amen.”

It’s a simple declaration:
building my life on God’s Word.

Through every season — the highs, the valleys, the waiting, His Word has remained the rock beneath my feet.

This song is just me saying yes to Him again.

Welcome to 51 Days of Hope.

We are the Lucima family, and this journey was born out of our real life.

We have walked through health challenges, unemployment, miscarriages, still birth and the loss of our daughter, Eliana, who was with us for 51 days.
But our story does not belong to only one child.

It was the courage we learned through Gideon and Nia that helped us walk with Eliana.
It was what God carried us through with Eliana that strengthened us for our experience with Kai, and then Callia… and Revival… and Victory… and then Aurora.

Each of our children carries a name that reflects something God has taught us about who He is — and who we are becoming.

51 Days of Hope was first created in honour of the 51 days our daughter, Eliana, was with us.
But today, this journey represents something deeper:

A family choosing to keep standing.
A family choosing to keep believing.
A family choosing to keep loving — even when life has not been easy.

Our heart for these 51 days is simple:
To encourage and equip you in Faith, Hope, and Love.

Throughout this journey, we will also share creative expressions that have helped us heal, listen, and respond to God — through music, art, writing, and the creativity of our children.

None of it is perfect, it is our simple offering.
