So you wanna be a tandem instructor….Sometimes, you’ve just got to laugh through the interesting ones. This was so much fucking fun. #skydiving #nashville #hair #fun #style by @mrmusclepants

The plan was to do a flock with the boys from 13,000 feet and land at the beach. That was the plan… Unfortunately, my 69 Leia had a different plan in mind. I had tension knots out the door and this is what unfolded on the jump. At that altitude, to chop the canopy would have sent it 5 miles out to sea. So, the plan was to pull it in and out of a stall until the lines cleared, or go for the bull ride until 2000 feet and chop it, then hopefully recover it. Here’s my objective history with NZ/Jyro canopies. 84VX with gnarly tail flutter, 79JVX with gnarly tail flutter, 69 Leia that I chopped NINE times because of tension knots(which it was highly known for), 64 Petra that ripped at the brake attachments at 13 skydives because of admittedly poor manufacturing. When that got repaired and sent back, it had tail flutter and they recalled it and built me a 61 that had tail flutter out of the bag. That got recalled because their test jumper ALSO deemed it too dangerous to jump. Then, they built me another 64 Petra. That one also had tail flutter out of the bag and I couldn’t even touch my fronts at all. I have the email from NZ that says, “We’ve built 4 Petras in the history of the Petra that had tail flutter, and you’ve owned 3 of them. They had no explanation as to what caused it. Not even a hint. Now, those of you that may think it was my technique would at least be right to question it. But, I hooked up other people’s Petras to my setup and swooped the fuck out of them. I borrowed other rigs and Petras and did my thing without so much as a hint of flutter. Hooked mine back up, did the same turn I always do and it was fucked. After three canopy recalls, a bunch of swoops where I was sure my canopy was going to collapse, no answers or solutions, and being injured multiple times from violent or spinning openings, we parted ways forever. Thank god I found Fluid Wings. You know what’s never given me a concussion? An Airwolf. You know what canopy has never slammed me so hard into diving tension knots that I was put out of work and had to recover it nine times? My HK2. You make your decisions on what you fly, but I’ve made mine. #flyfluid @fluidwings by @mrmusclepants

I’m not a religious man by any means. But, there have been a few times in my life where I felt like something bigger than me was taking a peek into my life and giving me a hand. If you don’t know the story, I was on a month long road trip last year through the Southwest for my birthday. A friend of mine I hadn’t seen in a while wanted to meet up in Phoenix, hopped in the car with me on a whim, and we started driving to Moab together. In the middle of fucking nowhere in Arizona, he asked me to pull over at a gas station to grab some beers. We went inside, discovered they did not sell beer, and went to bail and continue our journey. We both saw this little teddy bear at the gas pumps nearly get hit by two cars, then ran across the parking lot, plopped her little butt down and just stared at me. I scooped up the shivering little mess that she was, she fell asleep in my arms, and the rest is history. I slept in the back of my car in the snow with her just to keep her warm, road tripped to California, and quit my jobs in Hawaii to keep her. It’s been a struggle so many times. I cried every day for months when we first got to Nashville because she would cower and hide in her crate or under my bed and I felt like I wasn’t doing anything right. But, we kept going and we kept working together. Finding a balance between obedience and the freedom of letting her just be a dog was an arduous journey, but we found our rhythm and stride. She’s imperfect, she’s high energy and too smart for her own good, but so am I, and that’s why we get along. YouTube, hundreds of repetitions, and a whole lot of patience from both of us have gotten my monster and I where we are. My only regret is that I didn’t bring my heels on this trip and had to wear socks… It was soooo incredible to be back @dollhousepoledance with @pole.pixiee and @corionapole taking some choreo. What a journey this has been. Being stoked as fuck to pole dance to some Miley Cyrus was never on my bingo card, but I loved every second of it. I’m so proud of how “weird” I am. Always let your freak flag fly. Get busy living or get busy dying. #pole #poledance #fun #dance #art by @mrmusclepants

Someone said I was acting like a 4 year old, but I’d like to see a 4 year old Tokyo Drift a shopping cart like this. #costco #shopping #drift #bigkid #fun @megansaber by @mrmusclepants

I just want to pole dance and do hoodrat shit with my friends… #pole #dance #art #movement #nashville @flyingpolecollective @gaiapole by @mrmusclepants

To post or not to post…everyone is their own worst critic and I see all the rough transitions and imperfections. But, what I also see is me flowing smoother than I did a year ago, being more playful, letting moves breathe before rushing to the next one…I’m really fucking proud of how far I’ve come with pole dancing, and it’s become such a beautiful form of expression for me. It’s art. I came to Nashville to pursue performing and haven’t been able to find a way to break away from the life I know to this undiscovered journey. Until I do, I’ll keep dancing to nourish my own soul and just do it for me and anyone in the park that wants to watch. What a beautiful thing I accidentally discovered by wandering into that first choreography class in Salt Lake City #pole #poledance #art #dance #nashville by @mrmusclepants

Brits and brilliant backflips for breakfast. My name is Mrmusclepants, and I like to party. #skydive #nashville #adrenaline #movement #life by @mrmusclepants

Jenny- 87 years old and an absolute fucking legend. What a gem of a human being. We tried to get her to flip off the helicopter news crew that was filming, but her sweet little heart just couldn’t. Haha. Yes, we did a backflip out of the plane. Obviously. #nashville #skydive #skydiving #art #fun by @mrmusclepants
