🗣️Book number 6….
“The Elephant in the womb is here”.
I’m thinking to print this book with the idea of a double book launch at the end of the year. Special thanks to all of you who shared your experiences about being seen as the elephant in the room. I pray that I did your stories a justice. Couldn’t have done it without you. You all know who you are.

Should I release this book in December?
Or
Should I wait until after Xmas in the new year? Thanks in advance… by @mrrobintravis

The future is bright… 🤌🏾🔥 by @mrrobintravis

Oh how I hate this black history/mystery month bs. There was a time when I would’ve died for my black people. (I swear)
I used to think like Malcolm X. Though now, I’m like Malcolm Y? Why, did our own brothers kill us bro! Be careful when you love your people hard. I promise you they don’t love you back. They see you as competition while you’re trying to uplift them. Some of our people are still working with the same people who they claimed were oppressing them. You can’t buy my silence, but I won’t speak on it. He who has eyes let him see.

Being a self published author is where it is at. You must have access to your own destiny.

In 2026 - I wrote (4 books) & a short film in just a year... the final book launch for the other 2 books will be out in early December.

As for 2027 - well, I’ll just let the work speak for itself. 🎬🎬🎬📚

ROBYN TRAVIS HACKNEY - WRITERS LEGACY STEPS Step 26 ❤️

For author Robyn Travis, seeing his name on the Hackney Writers Legacy Steps at Dalston CLR James Library carries a significance that goes far beyond having his name on a staircase.

Robyn says that despite everything he has achieved during 14 years as an author, this is the first time his work has been formally recognised.

And where better for that recognition than Hackney, home. ❤️

Dalston’s CLR James Library is Robyn’s childhood library. He remembers the old library and growing up around Holly Street and Dalston, making this Legacy Step deeply personal.

His words about the people he wishes could have witnessed the moment particularly touched us:

“I would’ve loved if my mum and Nan could’ve seen what I’ve done with my life. For me, the recognition of a parent is way more meaningful than anyone else.”

Robyn’s story is exactly why the Children’s Black Book Fair UK created the Hackney Writers Legacy Steps.

Sometimes the people creating, writing and documenting our stories are right here in our communities doing extraordinary work for years without receiving their flowers.

So Robyn, these are some of yours. 💐📚

And judging by his final words, he isn’t finished:

“Shockingly, this is the first recognition of my career. You better believe it’s not the last.”

We hear you, Robyn! 😂👏🏾

❤️ WE BELONG IN EVERY STORY.

☺️Another milestone completed🧎🏾

Thanks to each and every one of you who made it. For those who got a ticket and couldn’t make for whatever reason, please don’t feel no way. I felt your presence in spirit.

I’m grateful for choosing to step out of my comfort zone to write a poetry book on the concepts of dating marriage relationships and R&B. However, the theatre part to #MeetMeAtTheAltar is where my excitement lays. Thanking the most high for everything. If I’m honest, right now I just feel overwhelmed. I still can’t believe that I wrote 4 books in just over a year.

The next book launch is hopefully December. Where I will be releasing #MamaCantRaiseNoMan2 & #TheElephantInTheWomb

I want to give a special thanks to @stunna_stundem_stunz 👑
@peachespresents @loopylife.escapes 👑@jade__ch1 👑@danyele_leanne_loves 👑@4dcave 👑and everyone who came and made the night as lit as it was.

P.s special thanks to @official_je @horacebrowntv @kutklose_ @therealadinahoward and the whole 90s r&b/soul era. The book was inspired by your music. So thank you 🙏🏿👑 by @mrrobintravis

Thankfully today was the last day of filming. Having to relive those events can be taxing on the mind. Though we know in order to show others the light they need to know about the dark also. I’ve put my trust in the media for the first time. And for the first time I’m confident that trust won’t be betrayed.

One of the hardest days of filming but what you put in is what you get out #PrisonerToTheStreets 🗣️to the world…
