“The secret is there is no secret”

@leonlush and I just posted a new YT vid sharing our personal experience with losing weight over the past two years. It’s way out of my comfort zone to share something this personal but after lots of questions and comments we decided to turn the camera on and share what has worked for us.

What you won’t find in this vid is any mind blowing secret to losing weight or getting in shape. Diet, exercise, consistency, habit building, and patience have been the key to our success so far and we speak to what that’s looked like for us.

You guys picked my 40th birthday cake, so naturally I had to make it a whole thing 😂

Cinnamon roll layer cake won the vote, and I was SO excited about this one. Three layers of cake, cinnamon filling, vanilla buttercream… what could go wrong?

Well. The filling.

My first attempt was gritty, thick, and not giving the glossy cinnamon roll situation I was going for. And because apparently I like making my life harder, I assembled the entire cake anyway 🙃

The next day, I made a new batch of filling and took a chance on the cake I’d already assembled. The original tasted good, after all, even if the texture had me questioning everything.

And guess what? It worked! I was apparently a little too worried about that thick, pasty filling. The cake turned out great, and the new batch gave me the glossy cinnamon swirl on top I’d been hoping for, plus extra to serve with each slice.

This one’s a little different from my usual recipe reviews. I wanted to share the whole process of making the cake you helped me choose...including the parts that didn’t go according to plan.

Turns out, sometimes you just need to trust the cake 🎂
