I came to Thailand just to get away from everything.

Somewhere along the way, I met a Canadian girl who reminded me that I love to draw. Started sketching again… and I couldn’t stop. It felt like therapy.

We talked about tattooing, about the process, about what it really takes. A few days later, we went to buy the tattoo equipment together. It all felt random… but also kind of aligned.

After practicing on fake skin (and testing on myself first), I set up a small tattoo corner in @lazygibbonhostels .

I had been talking to @lacigaletattooshop with 10 years of experience about the idea. Just a moments after, @alex_moesle1997 from Germany showed up.

I’d seen he already had some tattoos, so I just asked him straight up, “Do you want one?”

He said yes.

He trusted me with his skin, and we did Buttercup from Powerpuff Girls for his girlfriend. First real one. And I’m honestly proud of it.

The craziest part? When I draw or tattoo, it’s the only time I don’t feel like smoking.

So let’s see where this goes.

If you’re around and you want a tattoo… apparently, I do tattoos now. 🖊️🖤 taken in Chiang Mai, Thailand by @histriatriaproject

Behind the curiosity is a real story.

These women belong to the Kayan (often called “long-neck”) community. Decades ago, many fled conflict and persecution from Myanmar and crossed the border into northern Thailand. What began as survival slowly turned into settlement.

Today, some of these villages exist almost entirely because of tourism. Visitors come, photos are taken, souvenirs are sold — and this becomes the main way to earn a living.

It’s complicated.
Tradition, displacement, choice, and necessity all mixed together in one place.

This isn’t a zoo. It’s not a fairytale either.
It’s real people adapting to the only system available to them.

Watch with curiosity — but also with respect. taken in Mae Hong Son, Thailand by @histriatriaproject

Turning off GPS makes me have life moments.

I had a day with no real plan.
I turned off GPS and went for a ride. 🛵

Small jungle paths. No signs. No signal. 🌿
Roads that don’t really lead anywhere on the map.

I stopped for a moment.
Two guys waved me over.
They were on a break, watching their chickens. 🐓

They didn’t speak English.
I don’t speak Thai.

So we sat.
Drank tea. ☕️
Shared some food.

No big conversations.
Just hands, smiles, and time.

No signal meant no rush.

Just a normal human moment —
the kind you don’t plan,
the kind you remember.

Funny how when you disconnect,
things connect. 🤍 taken in Thailand by @histriatriaproject

A random alley in Pai.

Two kids.
Two roosters. 🐓🐓

No rules.
No commentary.

Ended up at a rave in the middle of nowhere.

@jonathancvn found a flyer in a bar bathroom.
Next thing you know — jungle, psytrance, food stalls, fire pits everywhere 🔥

Thank you @fisher_luigi for the energy!

Mama buffalo and buffalo son moment 🐃🩶

On the way to Kho Ku So Bamboo Bridge,
I randomly ran into this National Geographic moment 😅

A small group of Thai buffaloes was crossing the road.
The little one got scared —
so mom turned back, looked at him, and said: come on, let's go. 🐃🐃 taken in Pai, Thailand by @histriatriaproject

I’ve been in Chiang Mai for a while now.
If you ride motorcycles 🏍️, sooner or later you hear about the Mae Hong Son Loop.

This isn’t just a ride.
It’s a legendary ~600 km loop with 🔁 1,864 curves, cutting through the mountains ⛰️ of Northern Thailand.

I’m riding it counter-clockwise, starting from the north 👆:

➡️ Chiang Mai
➡️ Pai
➡️ Mae Hong Son
➡️ Khun Yuam
➡️ Mae Sariang
➡️ back to Chiang Mai

Day one.
⏱️ About 3 hours riding to Pai.

I rented a Honda Click 125 🛵.
With a backpack (around 80–90 kg total weight) 🎒
top speed is roughly 100 km/h ⚡
— more than enough for this loop.
Light, easy, fun in the curves.

Backpacking the whole route 🎒

🏍️
Would you ride the Mae Hong Son Loop this way?
If you’ve done it — what was it like? taken in Thailand by @histriatriaproject

Thai souvenir shops broke my eyes 🌈👀

Went to visit Doi Sutep and almost got visual overload at the souvenir market.

You land in Thailand 🇹🇭
and the first thing you notice — English doesn’t really exist.

The culture is closed, strong, untouched 🛕
Architecture, food, daily life — everything feels different.

Thailand has always been a kingdom.
For over 700 years 👑
Kings before politics. Tradition before systems.

When royalty passes, the country mourns.
For months. Sometimes a year.
Black clothes, silence, respect. Together.

It doesn’t work like a republic.
Rules exist, but relationships matter more 🤝

What was your first thought when you realized
you were standing inside a real kingdom?
