Real experience, real clients, and opportunities to grow! 💡

The Carl Collective is the Diederich College of Communication's student-driven strategic communication firm. It gives students professional experiences that most don't get until well after graduation. Come read about how the Carl Collective is impacting the educational journey of senior intern Ellie Golko!

Interested in working for the Carl Collective? Applications for next year open in March of 2027! by @mucollegeofcomm

When Marquette worlds collide!

Andrew Amouzou, a reporter with Fox 6 in Milwaukee and a Class of 2023 grad, stopped by campus today to interview Dr. Mark Konewko, university carillonneur and a member of our college’s music faculty!

You may have seen Mark’s viral “Roll Out the Barrel” performance on the university bells last week in honor of the Milwaukee Brewers…look for a story about it on Fox 6 soon!

Great to see our journalism alumni coming back to cover their alma mater 🙌 by @mucollegeofcomm

When you're going backstage at The Book of Mormon on Broadway and meeting influential alumni in Washington D.C., you KNOW some of those photos are making it to The 'Gram 😅

On all of our recent Diederich Experience trips, students have taken over the college Instagram account, providing their peers with a look at the incredible experiences they're having while networking with alumni on the road. These trips are one of the most meaningful learning opportunities we offer to students, and we're so thankful to the alumni who step up to make them happen each year.

We've got applications open for Los Angeles and San Juan, Puerto Rico in the spring — students, check the college newsletter and the college Sharepoint for details on how to apply! by @mucollegeofcomm

Wherever the Brewers go, @lizzieobriennn goes!

Lizzie is a Class of 2026 graduate with a double major in political science and public relations. She is a social media coordinator with the Milwaukee Brewers, capturing content behind the scenes and bringing millions of followers closer to the athletes they care about.

So why is Marquette Nursing tagged in this post? Well, guess who ran our College of Nursing social media pages when she was just a first-year student? That’s right, it’s Lizzie!

From the College of Nursing to Marquette Athletics to the Milwaukee Bucks, Lizzie left every organization she was a part of better than she found it during her time as a student, and her hard work is paying off with the Brew Crew! 💫 by @mucollegeofcomm

When you start at Marquette, you can get anywhere...even the World Series!!

Diederich College of Communication alumna @sophiaminnaert has spent more than a decade as the on-field reporter for Brewers broadcasts and nine years as the team’s broadcast and digital features content director. Over that time, she has worked hundreds of games and told players’ stories in English and Spanish to a combined audience of millions.

This past May, the college honored Minnaert with its Young Alumna of the Year award for her excellence in broadcasting, not to mention her unwavering support for her alma mater.

Good luck to Sophia and the Brewers — the whole city is behind you! by @mucollegeofcomm

Let’s get ready to RRRRRUUUUUUMBLE!!!!

(Safely. Responsibly. In a make-believe, theater-ish way.)

Students in the unarmed stage combat class learn the tricks of the trade from professional fight choreographer Jamie Cheatham! What these students are doing here may be coming to a stage near you soon.

One of the most-read sports sections in the country, @phillyinqsports, is edited by @marquetteu graduate @mikehuang55.

His time at Marquette did more than just teach him the fundamentals of journalism, though; it set him up for a lifetime of serving others.

Michael gives back to Marquette today through his role in @seligjaffeemarquettementors, among other contributions.

Thanks for being a friend to our students and our college!

🌎 Three of our students were at the center of the PR world this week!

👥 Seniors Ellie Golko and Mia Garcia-Morici, as well as junior Bella Gruber, attended the PRWeek Conference in Chicago. Only a few dozen students across the country were selected to attend.

🤝 They got to attend the conference's student networking breakfast as well as the learning sessions that came afterward. Our future strategic comms pros gained insight from speakers representing The Obama Foundation, Edelman, Patagonia, Wells Fargo and more.

💨 Strategic communication students and alumni have a long history of success in Chicago, from directing public relations for Navy Pier to founding their own agencies. We're so proud that three of our best and brightest are following in their footsteps! by @mucollegeofcomm

Thanks to our partners at Plum Media for hosting our students on their local Diederich Experience visit!

Getting to go behind the scenes of an award-winning local video production agency is an invaluable experience for these students, one that is sure to stay with them as they move forward into their careers. It's all thanks to our incredible alumni that they get to do cool things like this! by @mucollegeofcomm

This year, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Marquette University Television 📺

Established in 1976, MUTV has been the training ground for hundreds of successful professionals across industries — journalism, film, advertising, marketing, post-production and sports, just to name a few. Our students get to learn in multiple television studios (including an all-virtual set) while using state-of-the-art cameras and technical direction equipment 🎥

The technology has changed quite a bit since MUTV's founding, but the concept hasn't: real shows, real stories, all managed by students.

If you want to see some of their work, go to the Marquette University Television YouTube page!

(And keep your eyes out for some long-lost MUTV footage throughout the year...👀 👀 ) by @mucollegeofcomm
