Hello. Here's what we make.

The Ritual is our warm coffee alternative. It tastes like a smooth mocha and has under 5mg of caffeine, roughly a twentieth of a coffee.

Protein Powder is vanilla. It has 22g of protein and 0g sugar, and it's made with a tiny leaf called Lemna. The leaf is a good story, and we tell it here.

We make these with a very small list of opinions: name every ingredient, make it taste good, keep it simple.

Follow along. We'll show you everything that goes in.

Meet the new one.

Mujo Protein Powder is vanilla, with 22g of plant protein, 0g sugar and all nine essential amino acids in a serving. It's the first protein powder made with Lemna leaf, a tiny plant that floats on water. The second protein is yellow pea.

One of our beta testers said it tastes like cookies and cream. We'll take it.

A few honest notes. You need a blender, that's what makes it thick and creamy. The MCT oil powder is made from coconut. And the amino acid figures are calculated from the proteins in the blend, with a lab analysis of the finished powder under way.

Everything in it: Lemna leaf protein, yellow pea protein, MCT oil powder (coconut MCT, acacia fiber), sea salt, sunflower lecithin, Madagascar vanilla bean, xanthan gum, natural vanillin, monk fruit extract.

Pre-order is open at $45 and the first batch ships by November 19. Link in bio.

Beta testers received product free of charge.

We think you should be able to see everything you're drinking. So here's the whole bag.

The Ritual has fourteen ingredients:
organic Peruvian cacao, organic carob, organic MCT oil, organic gelatinized black maca, organic lion's mane, organic chaga, organic cordyceps, organic golden oyster, L-theanine, panax ginseng, organic Ceylon cinnamon, organic ginger, monk fruit, sea salt.

That's four organic mushroom extracts (never mycelium on grain), cacao and carob for the mocha taste, and monk fruit as the only sweetener. Under 5mg of caffeine a cup.

One tablespoon, hot water, frothy milk. That's the whole routine.

Save this for the next time someone asks what's in your mug.

This is Lemna. A tiny leaf that floats on water and doubles itself every 48 hours.

It's a complete protein, with all nine essential amino acids, and it's the main protein in our new Protein Powder.

Vanilla, $45, pre-orders open now. Ships by November 19.

Your family’s barista would like her counter space back. ☕️→🍄

One tablespoon, hot water, milk if you’re fancy. Inside: four organic mushrooms, cacao, carob, L-theanine, panax ginseng and black maca. Under 5mg of caffeine, so no afternoon crash.

Side effects may include retiring the coffee machine and picking up new hobbies (pickling optional 🥒).

Subscribe and your first order comes with a free frother.

Coconut Cloud Latte, no coffee in it.

Recipe:
- 1 tbsp the Ritual + 2 oz hot water + 1 tsp date syrup, froth
- add ice
- 4-6 oz cold milk of choice + 1 tsp condensed coconut milk, froth thick
- pour it slowly over the top, stir when you're ready

One teaspoon of condensed coconut milk gives plenty of coconut flavor but not much sweetness. Like it sweeter? Add a little more date syrup or maple syrup.

Mocha and coconut, under 5mg of caffeine. Save this for tomorrow.

In a city of $8 lattes and $20 juices, we couldn’t help but wonder… 🍸

Maybe the answer isn’t more. Maybe it’s less.

Our Ritual swaps the second (and third) coffee for mushrooms, cacao and a lot less caffeine. Same cosy cup, slower morning.

Tell us: what’s one thing in your morning routine you’d happily drop tomorrow? 👇

Starter kit in bio.

Not all mushroom products are made the same, and the label usually tells you more than you'd think. Six myths, checked.

1. Powder and extract are the same. They're not. Powder is the mushroom, dried and ground. An extract is steeped in hot water or alcohol to draw its compounds out, then dried down.

2. Mycelium is the same as the mushroom. Mycelium is the web of threads a mushroom grows from, often grown on rice or oats. The threads can't be separated from the grain, so the powder is part grain.

3. Ground chaga is ready to drink. Chaga is hard and woody, and fungal cell walls are made of chitin, which we break down poorly. That's why it has long been simmered as a tea, and why we use an extract.

4. All lion's mane is the same. Its best-known compounds sit in different places: hericenones in the mushroom, erinacines mainly in the mycelium.

5. A tincture and a powder give you the same thing. Alcohol pulls out compounds like triterpenes, hot water pulls out others like beta-glucans, and a dual extract uses both.

6. Beta-glucans are the only compounds that matter. Each species has its own: oyster mushrooms like golden oyster are among the richest food sources of ergothioneine, cordyceps has cordycepin, lion's mane has hericenones.

How to spot a good one: it says extract, there's no mycelium or grain on the label, the species and part are named, and it tells you how it's extracted.

The Ritual uses four organic mushroom extracts, never mycelium on grain.

Were the 90s the best decade? Everyone is feeling a little nostalgic these days so we sent our protein powder to a 1998 chatroom.

a/s/l? 2 days, leaf, Texas

Lemna is a tiny leaf that grows on water and doubles about every 48 hours. It’s a complete protein, with all 9 essential amino acids, grown by our friends Plantible in Texas.

It’s the main protein in our new vanilla protein powder. Pre-orders now open. Run, don’t walk (or dial-up if you’re feeling patient 😅 🌱) by @mujoworld

You don't need more steps.

Masks, plunges, trackers, tapes. Some help some people, and if your routine makes you happy, keep it. But the basics are boring, and they do most of the work: sleep, daylight and a walk, real food, your people, and one small ritual you look forward to. A study that has followed the same lives since 1938 keeps finding that close relationships are one of the best predictors of a long, happy life.

In the places where people live longest, purpose comes up again and again. Okinawa calls it ikigai, why you wake up in the morning. Nicoya in Costa Rica calls it plan de vida.

Old rituals were simple. Tea made the same way each morning. Fika in Sweden, a warm drink and a pause with someone else.

So what's it all for? We don't want to spend 80% of our time getting ready to enjoy the other 20%. We'd rather find the few things that bring most of the joy, do them often, and notice them.

What's on your short list?
