MURIEL GROSSMANN & TÕNU NAISSOO
NooPop Records

Suosittelemme!
Kaupalta tätä saa nyt 33€ hintaan.

Nähdään!

/////

Muriel Grossmann joins forces with Tōny Naissoo for a fully improvised studio session recorded in Tallinn on 28 November 2025.
Rooted in spiritual and cosmic jazz, the music pulses through hypnotic grooves and shimmering modal waves.
Flute and saxophone take the lead, carried by Organ, Rhodes and Moog, while guitar adds fire. Captured in the moment with no safety net, this is a raw and meditative journey into the sound.

Come to pick your copy from the shop now for a price of 33€.

Tõnu Naissoo tähistab juba sel laupäeval oma 75. juubeliaastat suurejoonelise topeltkontserdiga Salme Kultuurikeskuses!

17. oktoobril 2026 toimub Tallinnas Salme Kultuurikeskuses kontsert „Tõnu Naissoo 75“, mis toob lavale kaks erakordset koosseisu: Muriel Grossmann & Tõnu Naissoo ning Naissoo Freeform Quinteti originaalkoosseisu.

MURIEL GROSSMANN - FIRST MEDITATIONS on JOHN COLTRANE
.
This album is a CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION - a tribute to the person and spirit of John Coltrane.
.
While it’s always a good time to honour Coltrane’s memory, this particular moment seems to carry an increased urgency of remembering his message and mission.
.
Coltrane was born one hundred years ago. First, Coltrane was a compassionate individual. This is not my hypothesis or a well-intentioned assumption, but the credible testimony of his friends and family documented in countless publications. In my limited research, his affection was most often displayed in acts of generosity and the heavy-hearted empathy of truly caring.
.
He was sure to fulfill the leader’s calling by planting seeds and passing torches.
May these captivating songs, inspired by Coltrane’s Meditations, enhance your own meditations, and assist you to surpass the oath of doing no harm, by being a real force for good.

A leading figure in contemporary spiritual jazz, Austrian saxophonist Muriel Grossmann creates music infused with remarkable mystical depth and expressive power. Based in Ibiza, this fearless sonic explorer has developed a singular musical identity, defined by long, hypnotic trance-like passages and a lyrical approach inherited from the great masters of free jazz.

In this exclusive interview, the vinyl enthusiast reflects on her earliest musical memories, born from the classical pieces that accompanied her childhood journeys through Italy. Throughout the conversation, she offers a clear-eyed perspective on the place of women in today’s jazz scene and shares some of the albums that have profoundly shaped her. Speaking about the legendary Live at the Half Note by John Coltrane, she expresses her deep admiration for the saxophonist—not only for his musical genius, but also for the person he was.
