Dec 4, 𝓜𝓤𝓢𝓐𝓡 returns to Faith In Strangers for an electronic music adventure by the sea, and this time we’ve brought a very special guest: Roman Flügel, joined by the label’s driving force Dweedo.

Roman Flügel
Dweedo

Roman Flügel is one of the most respected names in house and techno. The German pioneer has been shaping the sound for decades, from his work as Alter Ego to a long run on Dial Records, Phantasy Sound and Running Back, plus co-founding the legendary labels Ongaku, Klang Elektronik, Playhouse and, more recently, Sister Midnight. Thirty years on, he has never stopped delivering music that crosses genres and dancefloors worldwide.

Expect a seamless blend of house, techno, acid and unexpected selections from start to finish at one of the most beautiful venues in the UK.

Dec 5, 𝓜𝓤𝓢𝓐𝓡 is back at Eiger Studios, Leeds with a full live set from DMX Krew, one of the most beloved names in electronic music.

DMX Krew (live)
Dweedo
Oscar (MITHA)
Ruby Ruby

DMX Krew is Ed Upton, one of the most prolific names in UK electro and the man behind Breakin’ Records and Fresh Up. He has been at it since the early 90s, with a catalogue that takes in Aphex Twin’s Rephlex and runs from ambient to acid, techno to electro. His live show is all hardware: bubbling acid, wonky electro and warm analogue grooves, played live straight from the source with no shortcuts by a true electro pioneer.

Supported by MUSAR boss Dweedo and local selectors Oscar (MITHA) & Ruby Ruby, who’ll take care of the rest with rolling club music, stripped-back electro and acid selections. Six hours at Leeds’ favourite warehouse, which should be enough to lose track of time entirely.
Come for the bass, stay for the bleeps.

NEW SHOW

Roman Flügel, Faith In Strangers x MUSAR
Friday 4 December

Roman Flügel has helped shape European house and techno for more than thirty years. In 1993 he co-founded the labels Ongaku, Klang Elektronik and Playhouse, home to records by Isolée, Ricardo Villalobos and LoSoul, and his albums on Dial, from Fatty Folders to All The Right Noises, show how far his sound can travel.

As a DJ he gives every record time to breathe, moving between house, techno and whatever surprises him on the night. His sets change with the room, the crowd and the hour.

He is joined by Dweedo, the Amsterdam DJ behind MUSAR Recordings, a label that has released Mental Overdrive, Ricardo Tobar and Nightwave and throws parties across Europe and the Middle East. Expect sinister electro, shiny IDM and trippy club music.

Doors 9pm. 18+.

PREMIERE: Hoshina Anniversary - Kono Kanjitte (MUSAR)

Hoshina Anniversary returns to MUSAR for his fourth appearance on the label with Sankaku, a five-track EP offering the latest snapshot of his ever-evolving ‘Watechno’ sound.

Taking its name from the Japanese word for triangle, ‘Sankaku’ opens with a storming, floor-focused title track, pairing hypnotic techno rhythms with shifting textures and sharp acid drops. ‘Tsuppari’ follows, named after the rapid hand thrusts used in sumo. Driving percussion, Japanese instrumentation and a raw techno pulse give the track a physical, forward-moving energy, making it a natural club cut.

Side B opens with ‘Kono Kanjitte’, where acidic tones meet jazzy elements and a playful sense of uncertainty. Slower and psychedelic, it unfolds as a track for restless minds and hazy nights. ‘Ariake’, named after the Ariake Sea, moves into more spacious territory, with Japanese instrumentation creating an atmosphere of mystery and anticipation, like looking towards an unknown horizon. Closing the EP, ‘Itsukushimi’ brings a melancholic blend of melodic touches and darker cinematic tension, recalling the atmosphere of a Hitchcock soundtrack.

With ‘Sankaku’ EP, Hoshina Anniversary turns Japanese imagery, psychedelic textures, and club-driven rhythms into a world that feels both familiar and otherworldly.

In 1978, French composer and synthesiser pioneer Bernard Fèvre quietly released Disco Club under the name Black Devil, six hypnotic tracks built from analogue synthesizers, spectral vocals and cosmic disco. Too strange and too futuristic for its era, the record disappeared almost as quickly as it arrived, only to be rediscovered decades later by collectors and DJs who couldn’t believe it had truly been made in the seventies.

Its reissue by Aphex Twin’s Rephlex Records transformed Black Devil Disco Club into one of electronic music’s defining cult acts, revealing a sound that had unknowingly anticipated Italo disco, synthwave and generations of underground dance music.
