Een nieuw editie van Krikrak komt eraan 👀

Op 7 en 8 november 2026 verandert de Brugse binnenstad opnieuw in één grote speelplek. Verwacht je aan kinderen die de cultuurhuizen overnemen, creatieve workshops en verrassende voorstellingen! En ook dit jaar helpen verschillende Brugse scholen mee om ons festival vorm te geven door middel van het schoolproject '𝐆𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐭' in samenwerking met De Batterie! 🖼️

Summer in Bruges — and a reason to go beyond the canals.

@BRUSKBrugge opened its doors in May — Bruges’ new art and exhibition centre, designed by Robbrecht en Daem Architects and Olivier Salens Architects in the heart of the Museum Quarter. Its inaugural exhibition is one of the most ambitious cultural-historical presentations Belgium has seen in years.

Bigger Picture: Connected Worlds of Bruges 900–1550 closes 6 September. Co-curated by Oxford historian Peter Frankopan and Professor Jan Dumolyn of Ghent University, the exhibition recasts medieval Bruges as what it genuinely was: a world city at the epicentre of global trade, culture and politics. Five chapters trace its connections across the North Sea, the Islamic world, the Mediterranean, the Christian East and the courts of Europe — told through objects of extraordinary provenance. Bellini’s Portrait of Mehmed II, on loan from the National Gallery in London. Manuscripts from the Vatican Apostolic Library. The full weight of a city that shaped the world, and knew it.

For those who walk the BRAFA floor each January, this is familiar territory — art as evidence of connection, of exchange, of civilisations in conversation across centuries.
