Dr. David Gozal, Dean of the @musomwv, and Elaine Gozal are stepping out of their usual roles and onto the dance floor for Dancing with the Herd 2026! 💃🕺

On November 20, Dr. David Gozal and Elaine Gozal will take the stage to show off their moves while helping raise support for a student-focused cause.

We’ll be following their journey from rehearsals to the dance floor, so be sure to follow along! 👀

Things got a little spooky at the @musomwv. 💚

We put some of our first-year medical students to the test with a round of Halloween-themed medical trivia, mixing science with a little spooky fun. 🧠💀

The @musomwv has received initial accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education to establish a new clinical cardiac #electrophysiology fellowship in Huntington. 🫀

The two-year program was approved for one fellow per year and will provide comprehensive clinical training in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, including cardiac arrhythmias and other conditions involving the heart’s electrical system.

Some of our students got into the Halloween spirit with a safari-inspired trick-or-treat station while volunteering at Hoops Family Children's Hospital's annual trick-or-treat celebration at @cabellhuntingtonhospital! 🦁🌿🐒

We're proud of our students for taking time out of their busy schedules to give back and help create a memorable day for these little trick-or-treaters! 💚 by @musomwv

To assist first-generation physicians like himself, Dr. David Gozal, vice president for health affairs and dean of the @musomwv, and his wife, Elaine Gozal, MSc, have established a new scholarship.

The #CountryRoads First Steps Scholarship will provide $1,000 annually to an entering first-year medical student from #WestVirginia who will be the first member of their family to attend medical school. The award will be renewable for three additional years as long as the recipient maintains normal academic progress.

First-year medical students from the @musomwv enjoyed a day of adventure, fellowship and team building at Equestrian Adventures in Fayetteville, West Virginia. 🐎

Joining them for the equestrian adventure were Dean David Gozal, MD, his wife, Elaine, and Susan L. Flesher, MD, senior associate dean for admissions. The group continued the fun with dinner following their outing.

From the trails to the dinner table, it was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen friendships, connect with school leadership and make memories along the way! 💚 by @musomwv

@marshallmedicaloutreach brought students, healthcare professionals and community partners together to provide free, accessible healthcare to patients in need.

Throughout the event, patients had access to vision care, STI, HIV and hepatitis C testing, vaccinations and visits with volunteers, all in one place. 🩺

A special thank-you to Dr. Darshana Shah and the JRPD Foundation for sponsoring this outreach event! We're also grateful to our dedicated students, volunteers and community partners who continue to make these opportunities possible. 💚
