Today, we said goodbye to Joey. Sometimes saying goodbye is the kindest thing we can do for our pets we love, even when our hearts aren’t ready to let go.

Joey, the last 8½ years with you went by far too quickly. You and Ryan grew up together, with you quickly surpassing her in size—and somehow, you still thought you were a lap dog. You couldn’t wait for Ryan to come home from school every day, and you were always happiest when your family was together.

You could be a complete menace when you wanted to be, secretly eating toys and underwear like it was your full-time job. But you were also the sweetest boy, always looking for someone to sneak up on so you could give them a hug. You were goofy, loving, and impossible not to laugh around.

You loved your family deeply, including all of your dog siblings. I’m sure Oscar, Ernie, and Buddy were so excited to see you again and welcome you back.

For now, we’ll miss you more than words can say. Thank you for 8½ years of love, laughter, and memories we’ll carry with us forever.

We love you, Joey. Until we meet again. 🤍 #greatdane #rainbowbridge #greif by @mustangfiveoh12
