Make a wish - Golden Tiger

You know that feeling when you’ve been dreaming of seeing a wildlife animal, and the moment finally happens? Even if it didn’t play out the way you imagined, you’re still trying to process it all, and the smile just won’t leave your face - that’s exactly what I feeling right now.

Haven’t even processed the RAW files yet, the time will come. For now, just a raw camera screen capture of a Golden Tiger. Huge thanks to Matan and Esther for sharing this insane moment with me. Grateful we were all on the same vibe! 🐅

🐻 A new chapter begins.

I'm incredibly excited to share that, starting in 2027, I'll be joining the @mw_phototours team as a Wildlife Photography Tour Leader! 📸🌿

Wildlife photography has taken me to some incredible places around the world, giving me unforgettable experiences, new perspectives and the opportunity to meet amazing people who share the same passion for nature.

Now, I'm very happy to take the next step and share these experiences with other photographers.

And my first tour as a tour leader will take me back to a place I've already had the chance to photograph: Slovenia, where I'll be leading a photography tour dedicated to one of Europe's most fascinating animals — the brown bear. 🇸🇮🐻

Having already photographed bears in Slovenia myself, I'm particularly excited to return and help other photographers experience these incredible encounters from the hides, while making the most of the photographic opportunities the area has to offer.

📅 May 2027

Whether you're passionate about wildlife photography, looking to improve your skills in the field, or simply dreaming of photographing brown bears in their natural environment, I'd love to have you join me.

📩 Want to know more?

Send me a DM or comment “BEAR” below and I'll send you all the information about the tour.

This is just the beginning, and I can't wait to see where this new adventure takes us.

See you in the field! 🐻📸

Shooting down on an animal makes it small and creates distance. Get down to its eye level, whether it’s a raptor, a mammal or a reptile, and you meet it as an equal.

Focus sharp on the eyes, with a shallow depth of field that melts the background. The viewer has to look the animal in the eye, and the frame says: it feels, it exists, it’s not an object in the landscape.

Next time, before you press, get lower.

At an open view, most photographers reach for the wide lens and press. Build the story in layers instead. With a strong foreground, the viewer doesn’t just look at the photo, they step into it.

Foreground: something clear that leads in. A bush, a distinctive rock, fresh tracks in a dune, a dry branch.
Midground: the main subject or the link. An animal, a lone tree, folds in the land.
Background: what closes the story. A ridge, a dramatic sky, the moon or clouds.

Focal length: 16–35mm for the foreground and the context, around 70mm for natural proportions, 200mm and up or macro to compress the layers and isolate texture.
Aperture: f/11 for a frame sharp from edge to edge, f/4 to f/5.6 to isolate a close subject.
Avoid the center, follow leading lines, and use shadow to separate the layers.

Practice: shoot the same scene three ways. A close-up, a medium frame, a wide frame.

Today is International Snow Leopard Day.
Sharing a 2-minute clip from our time in Uley, Ladakh.
Massive respect to Morup, the team and their families.
Snow leopard conservation isn’t built on slogans.
In Ladakh, it works because local communities build predator-proof corrals to stop livestock loss, run the homestays, and spend weeks tracking in -20°C terrain to monitor the population. That direct, ground-level work is the sole reason retaliatory killings dropped and these cats still have a stronghold here.
Thank you to Morup, Norbu, and everyone in Uley for the unmatched field tracking, the hospitality, and for doing the actual work on the mountain every single day.
Julley.

When you reach a new spot, don't raise the camera right away.

Stand for five full minutes. Look at the place with clean eyes and answer five questions:

1. What's the real story here?
2. What is the light doing to the subject right now?
3. What does this place feel like?
4. What's happening in the background, and does it serve the subject?
5. How do I shoot this differently?

An amateur reacts to the scene.
A professional builds the frame on purpose.

Try it on your next walk, even in a park near home.

Try a wider lens now and then. An environmental portrait shows the animal inside its world.

Then let the context in. Place the animal, or the protected place, inside what threatens it: an eagle in the sky with wind turbines or power lines far behind it, a small animal at the edge of a highway.

The contrast tells an immediate story about a habitat that keeps shrinking.

Next time, step back before you zoom in.

Diving with Constellation Sharks.. oh well they call the whale shark.

After watching the sunrise this morning and washing my eyes with beauty i went for a morning dive with a creature i haven't met before, i was surprised for how curious they are.. i think we saw 15 different individuals and they all came very close to say hello.
I used to dive as a teenager I remember at list 20 dives all were unlogged, now after getting my advanced license I feel ready to take it to the next stages and become an underwater digital photography instructor.

It's so peaceful and calm down there :)

If I had a personal column - the true story

I’m beyond excited to share that the new October issue of The Wild Side of Photography magazine is out, and I am officially one of the magazine’s contributors! After @mw_phototours interviewed me and sent over the previous issue, he mentioned that we could keep working together on a column. So here it is - my very first article in the magazine.

I’m sharing just the first page. The link for the website you need to check my story and you can read and see all my article and all the magazine issue for the first time in English. I truly believe that through this article and the ones to follow, I’ll be able to share and tell you everything I’ve learned (and keep learning) about wildlife and nature conservation, and I hope we can make a real difference.

Thank you once again to Matan Sharon for giving me the platform to write about the things I love and believe in. I promise to keep working hard to bring more fascinating articles to life for our readers. I also want to give a massive shoutout to the magazine’s incredibly talented designer, @xenia.kogan , who works absolute magic issue after issue with a design that makes you want to read it over and over again.

Another little dream come true.
