Our second-year SLP students got an up-close look at swallowing assessment during a Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) Lab with Professor Kleindel! Students had the opportunity to observe a live FEES evaluation performed on a peer in our on-site Speech-Language Institute, bringing everything they’ve learned about dysphagia assessment into a real clinical setting. With full-time advanced practicums just around the corner in winter quarter, these future SLPs are building the knowledge, confidence, and hands-on experience they’ll need to hit the ground running! A huge thank you to Professor Kleindel for the incredible clinical learning opportunities and preparation she provides our students! #SLP2be #SLPeeps #MWUAZ #Dysphagia #FEES by @mwu.az.slp

The REAL scares are last-minute Canvas submissions, surprise peer reviews, missing therapy materials, and Praxis prep that haunts your dreams. 💀 SLP students, which one is your biggest nightmare? Or did we miss something even scarier? 👀 Happy Halloween from the Midwestern University SLP Program! 🧡💜 #SLP2be #SLPGradSchool #FutureSLP #MWUAZ #SpeechLanguagePathology by @mwu.az.slp
Every voice deserves to be heard, valued, and understood. 💙 ㅤ October is Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Awareness Month: a time to celebrate the millions of individuals who communicate using tools other than verbal speech. Whether through high-tech speech-generating devices, eye-gaze technology, or communication boards, AAC gives individuals the power to express their thoughts, choices, and dreams. ㅤ As future healthcare providers, our responsibility goes beyond providing care; it means actively listening, honoring every form of communication, and advocating for equal access in every clinical and community setting. ㅤ Communication is a fundamental human right. Today and every day, we celebrate the diverse ways people share their world with us. 💬✨ ㅤ #AACaware26 #AACAwarenessMonth #AACAwareness #MidwesternUniversity by @mwu.az.slp
