What a perfect Friday night to spend on the water. With almost no wind dip netting for garfish was the plan. It took as a while to find a good patch of them but when we did it was on. A lot of fish and a lot of laughs. If you haven’t tried this method of catching them give it a go, it’s very entertaining. #garfish #dipnetting #PPB #portphillipbay #fishing #livewild by @mxmvl
HEY BOO, ´bout time a made a post about you! This one is for you, my magic Maddy. The brightest shining light in my life. Still remember the first time I saw you at a coffee bar on a random afternoon in Portugal. Didn’t dare to approach you. Few weeks later we talked for 5h at a barbecue, not leaving eachothers side. This turned into close to 14 months of daily texting and videocalls. Then you came to visit me in Belgium. 3 days turned into 5 weeks. My 3 week holiday to Australia turned into now almost 2 months and counting. What a journey has this been. Bonnie and Clyde on the Silly Hat Roadtrip turned into so much more… This rollercoaster we’re on is insane, curious where the ride is gonna take us. You are a magnificent, wonderful, beautiful, heartwarming, caring, loving and so on soul and person. I feel honoured to have you by my side. Your support has made me grow so much the last year. Thanks for being able to stand my bullshit. Thanks for loving me with all you have. Guess you are my personal spirit bird, a phoenix, my twin flame ;) I love you Booboo by @mxmvl
Thank you Basque Country 🏄🏻‍♂️ Sadly no surf action pictures were taken so here are some B-rols. One things for sure, the naps after lunch were a great preparation for the second session each day. #surftrip #hendaye #capbreton #hossegor #nap #kooksclubhendaye #camping by @mxmvl
Thanks to storm Hans - August ‘23 Could use some physical waves again to ride, instead of the ones called adult life. Captured by @tom_delanghe #surf #belgium #waves #stormhans by @mxmvl
FEEL IT How long has it been since you released something? Truly felt what was inside without even putting a label on it. We deal with so many emotions and situations throughout the day, we sometimes don’t even stop and have/take time to feel what it does with our soul. It’s one thing to notice and realize what is going on, label it and put it asside. But bearing the emotion, the energy moving, and in this way processing it, that’s where the true power lies within. Last week I went to @mushinamusic ‘s Homecoming ecstatic dance. A safe place to connect, meditate, dance, celebrate and so much more. @mario.e.nobre captured me in some moments where I was connected deeply to my own emotions, and moved and expressed them in the way my body felt like doing so. I bumped into happiness and sadness, compassion and frustration, so many I could even find a name for the emotion. Some of them I knew the cause from; others came out of deeper layers I couldn’t point out what caused them to be there. But I felt them, embraced them, moved, danced, stretched, comforted myself and took breaths with them. Thank you Mario for giving me these memories, reminders of being true to myself. Thank you @mushinamusic @katia_buben and the whole team for creating such a beautiful event. Thank you for everyone who was there, going through it all together and holding a safe space for ourselves and everyone present. #connect #feel #embraceyourself #ecstaticdance #arrabida #mushinamusic by @mxmvl

BREATHWORK FACILITATOR COURSE LEVEL 1. Hey guys, little update again. This year I decided to not spent my birthday weekend like all the others. I gifted myself this training/retreat, the first step in becoming a breathwork coach. It’s a gift for my future me, and to take care of the old me that’s still stuck inside. It was a heavy weekend emotionally, went deep within my own min, body and traumas. Holding space and trying to make someone feel safe was new to me. It’s a big responsibility but so rewarding. Breathwork helps you taking care of your mental, physical and spiritual well-being. People who practice breathwork describe feeling tingling sensations throughout their body, feelings of clarity, alertness, increased mind-body connection, and even emotional purging. For me, it’s releasing stored emotions and traumas within the body, often experienced as tension or pain. Feeling caught within yourself. I could keep on writing about how it went for me and what it actually is. But if you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Now I would like get more experience and studied, so happy to meet up and share knowledge. Also time to practise on holding space for people who are interested in it. #gratitude #breathwork #training #emotionalhealth by @mxmvl
This place means something special to me. More or less 10 months ago I came here on my first meditation hike. Was overwelmed with the beautiful nature, but even more by what toughts and feelings came to me. Is it the energy this place holds, or just me allowing them. I don’t know. Might give you guys the impression life is always amazing over here. Well it is, but at the same time, it’s a challenge. New job, new friends, new house, shitload of paperwork, and all of this combined with working on self growth. Been struggling the last weeks with selfcare, maybe its the lack of discipline, exhaustion or just life. Last week I came back to this place and some gentle toughts comforted me. Writing this down is probably more to remind myself. To be more gentle and get rid of that inner critic. But hey, why not sharing it. #morningtoughts #meditation #nature #portugal #praiadeursa by @mxmvl
Drinking beers or watching the surfers getting barreled in the competition? Saturday well spent and moments like these are best captured in a polaroid. 📸 @jonathanbessemans #superbock #carcavelos #cascais #polaroid by @mxmvl
Practise is starting to pay off🤙🏼 Special thanks to @moanasurfschool in Guincho. Had so much fun this summer with you guys, y’all tought me how to surf. Now I moved to Ericeira, practising as much as possible on my own. Winter is definitely something else! Happy if I catch some waves each session, and even more proud if an attempt to a manoeuvre was there! See y’all soon! 📸 @surfpics_ericeira #surf #ericeira #pescadores #saltypelicanretreats by @mxmvl
🤙🏼 SHAKA’s EVERYWHERE 🤙🏼 Really need to get back on my board, I mean the one with wheels 🏄🏻‍♂️ 🛹 Feeling nostalgic to those beautiful days with the homies. Spring session on this gem, Wallonhill as we call it⛰ Snap by @loulou.lrbx hanging out of the passenger seat 😂 Papa Ian in the safety car, closing the pack on this open road🚙 #wallonhill #downhillskateboarding #sendit #shaka #fam by @mxmvl
BELGIAN BIG WAVE HUNTERS Last week we had storm Barra bringing a massive swell to Praia do Norte, Nazaré. ⛈ Have you ever seen, not one, but two, complete rainbows? Count your blessings!🌈 Mother nature at its wildest, facilitating the best surfers of the world pushing their limits, setting records and giving us a spectacle I’ll never forget! 🌊 🏄🏻‍♂️ 🤙🏼 So cool meeting up with a friend from back home, both of us living here now in Portugal 🇵🇹 Only sad thing is the trash I found on the beach. A plastic bottle that must have been floating around for quite some time seen the amount of sealife already growing on it. The other one, the fishers buoy, I pulled out of the water. No wonder the ocean is full of microplastics. Look at these pieces of styrofoam slowly being torn down into smaller balls. Ending up in the foodchain. #gigantesdenazaré #bigwaves #faroldenazare #praiadonorte #belgeninhetbuitenland #cleanthebeach by @mxmvl
