POSTS STORIES REELS

Two years ago I was sitting at a desk in Hawaii wondering if this was really it.
Good job. Good friends. Good life. And I couldn’t shake the feeling that I was slowly disappearing into it.

So at 29, I did something I still can’t fully explain. I quit, bought a one-way ticket, and left.

No plan. No guarantee. Just a feeling that staying comfortable was going to cost me more than leaving ever could.

Now I live in Australia. Still figuring it out. Still the best decision I ever made.

If any part of this resonates follow along. You don’t have to have it figured out to start.Save this if you needed to see it today.

Hakuna Matata isn’t just a Disney song in Swahili it means “no worries,” a whole way of life here in Tanzania about staying present and shaking off stress. 🇹🇿✨

📍 Siem Reap, Cambodia

One of the most unexpected things I learned while travelling here: even a simple leaf can become a beautiful musical instrument.

I also met talented performers with disabilities who make an income by sharing their music with tourists. It’s a beautiful reminder that travel isn’t just about seeing new places—it’s about meeting people, learning from them, and supporting local communities.

If you come across them while exploring, consider stopping, listening, and supporting their work with a donation. Every little bit can make a difference.

Travel with curiosity. Travel with kindness.

One thing travel will teach you? Skills you never expected 🤣 In Vietnam, I didn’t just see stunning landscapes… I learned all 6 tones of Vietnamese. And yes, they all sound different… apparently. 🛻✨

I love traveling because you learn so many new things like why the men in Saudi Arabia smell so good.

The answer is oud (also called agarwood). It’s a rare, fragrant wood that comes from agarwood trees.

For centuries, it’s been burned as incense or worn as perfume oil across the Middle East. It’s tied to hospitality, tradition, and luxury.

So that incredible scent you notice everywhere? It’s not just cologne it’s culture. 🌿✨

📍Siem Reap, Cambodia 🇰🇭

I had no idea this was a thing until I traveled here. These HeroRATs are specially trained to detect unexploded landmines left behind from decades of conflict. They’re light enough that they don’t trigger the mines, but their incredible sense of smell allows them to locate explosives much faster than traditional methods.

The rats are trained by Apopo @herorats a nonprofit that began the program in Tanzania before expanding its life-saving work to countries like Cambodia. Together, these incredible animals have helped clear millions of square meters of land, making it safe for families to farm, build homes, and live without the fear of hidden explosives.

Travel constantly reminds me that some of the world’s most incredible innovations are happening in places I never expected.

📍 Zhangjiajie, China 🇨🇳

One of my favorite parts of traveling is discovering things you’d NEVER know existed back home 😂

In Zhangjiajie, you can actually hire local porters to carry you up parts of the mountain in a traditional sedan chair.

💰 Cost: around ¥150–¥400 depending on the route and distance
🥾 Why: Zhangjiajie has A LOT of steep stairs and mountain paths
🚡 Other options: cable cars, shuttle buses + the famous Bailong Elevator

So if you get halfway up the mountain and decide your legs are DONE… you have options 😂😭

Would you try this or are you hiking all the way up?

📍 Huacachina, Peru 🇵🇪

One of the coolest things I did in Peru was sandboarding down the massive dunes surrounding Huacachina 🏜️

Huacachina is a tiny desert oasis surrounded by towering sand dunes, and you can take a dune buggy into the desert before boarding down the dunes yourself. It’s one of those travel experiences you genuinely can’t recreate at home.

Save this for your Peru bucket list 🇵🇪✨

📍 Furong Town, Xiangxi, Hunan, China 🇨🇳

I love traveling because you get to discover places that feel like they belong in another world. 🥹🌏

This ancient town sits along the Youshui River, surrounded by waterfalls, mountains, and centuries of Tujia and Miao culture.

I love traveling because you get to see just how incredible people are. 🌎

📍 China 🇨🇳

Here I was, sitting in the tea room after check-in. We’d been told to rest, when suddenly these hotel maintenance workers showed up to move this massive 1,000-pound table. I wanted to ask if I could help, but I probably would’ve just gotten in their way😂

Plus, this would’ve absolutely wrecked my back. 😭
