POSTS STORIES REELS

AVAILABLE. 8AM. TOMORROW

Testing out our new coffee separating machine at the mytree farm in Brazil! 🫘⚙️☕️

This machine uses vibration and size to separate the beans into 4 different categories! It has 3 strainers with different milimetre sizes in which the coffee beans go through and are separated by size between these 4 bags! 🫘

Coffee irrigation 🪴☕️🚰

Here at the mytree coffee farm we use a drip irrigation system, which allows the water and nutrients to be delivered directly to the roots of the plants and also saves a lot of water compared to other irrigation systems 💧🪴♻️

Let’s learn a bit more about it? 🤓

These pipes run along the coffee rows in a way like veins, dripping the water and other potential added nutrients along every tree 🌱

Some of the benefits of this irrigation system are: increased crop yields, reduced labor needs and reduced waste risks for fertilizers and other nutrients added to the water 🧑🏻‍🌾

+ perhaps the most important part, it can help save up tons of water! up to 70% compared to other irrigation systems, which makes it a great environmentally friendly option! 💧♻️ 🌐

Clearing the rows between the coffee trees! 🚜🪴

🚜 Weeding the rows between the trees periodically and making sure they are clean and walkable is quite an important practice to maintain the care of the coffee trees! It helps make sure farmers can properly see and take care of the plants and also clear and prevent invasive weeds that might harm the crops 🌱 🧑🏻‍🌾
‼️But it's also important to note, it is not recommended to remove everything or just leave the rows on bare soil, as that might increase the risk of erosion and nutrient loss.
Just managing invasive weeds and making sure the roots of the coffee are healthy, secure and free of anything harmful, should be enough to maintain the health and care of the crops! 🪴☕️
💡Planting other beneficial types of crops or grass varieties in between the coffee rows can also help with erosion risks, moisture retention and even nutrition! 🍃

A little throwback to this year's harvest season! 🪴💛👨🏼‍🌾🚜

This year we had our very first "real" harvest! 😆☕️🍒🧐
As you might know already, our actual first harvest happened in 2024, but it was on a much smaller scale. This year we had a way bigger harvest, greater than we had even imagined! 🪴😍
Our coffee trees produced 1.600 kg of coffee this year, which is a lot more than they ever did before, and we are very, very proud of the outcome! 🍒🫘💛
However, we were not expecting this amount, so our team in Brazil had to go through a lot of hard work and even some improvising to be able to properly manage everything and have the best results possible! 👨🏼‍🌾👩🏻‍🌾🚜 and we are very grateful!
We had various improvements to our drying and processing infrastructure and a lot of changes of plans and different strategies along the way...
Thankfully, everything worked out and we were able to come out with two beautiful lots of paraiso and arara coffee that we are very proud of, and that will soon be available to you! 🪴☕️😌
But as you know, our quantity is limited... so, if you want to always have priority and early access to all of this information, updates and much more, make sure to check our coffee tree adoption link in our bio. Where you can adopt your own coffee tree, follow its journey through the different seasons, and become part of the my tree family! 🪴🩶☕️

Coffee nutrition 🪴👨‍🔬

Yesterday, we applied an ammonium sulfate solution through our coffee plantation’s irrigation system, a process known as fertigation. This fertilizer provides two essential nutrients for our coffee trees: nitrogen and sulfur 👨‍🔬
Nitrogen is extremely important for the plant's growth, as it promotes active photosynthesis, green leaf production and vigorous vegetative growth. A balanced nitrogen supply also helps the plant's absorption ability for other vital nutrients 🍃
Sulfur on the other hand, is very important for chlorophyll synthesis, protein formation and metabolic enzyme activation 🧬
Ammonium sulfate is a popular option for providing these nutrients to crops because of its versatility and low volatilization risks but, as any other fertilizer, must be utilized with care and caution 😉👨🏼‍🌾
