How to make a real cat eye ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Or in gel terms, a cat eye inspired cat eye ๐Ÿ‘€ Wait about 4 minutes before applying your base coat. Once the base coat is on, start moving the magnet pen up and down through the center of the bead. As soon as the pupil forms, round out the eye shape with the wand before the pigment settles. Once you're happy with the shape and the polish is completely dry, apply your top coat. You don't need to magnetize again after that. I used a magnet pen from a wand bundle I picked up a few months ago (around $3). I'm not sure if the pen is sold separately, but I'm happy to share the link if anyone's interested. The version from my last reel was actually my very first experiment with this technique. This one took me three attempts ๐Ÿซ . It's definitely a technique that takes some practice, so don't worry if it isn't perfect the first time. Products used: @cirquecolors 2 coats of Delusions of Grandeur over @holotaco One coat black @essie Strong Start Base Coat and Gel Setter Top Coat Funny enough, I thought this was the polish I used in my original experiment... turns out it wasn't! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ I actually think Pipe Dream gave a slightly better pupil. I've also tested it with a Mooncat magnetic, and it worked there too, but I have not tested with other brands so results may vary. #spookyseasonnails #halloweennails #realcateyenails #cateyenails #fallnails by @nailpaulie
Easy real cat-eye eye nails ๐Ÿˆโ€โฌ›๐Ÿค” (no gel) For the neat line challenged like me. Also great for application on your dominant hands! Featuring @hoshiumibeauty Hikaru (gifted) Restocking today at 4pm Pacific! Also used: @kbshimmer Fillin Groovy base coat @holotaco One Coat Black @holotaco Peely Base @tychelacquer Aura Farming Top Coat Stamper and dotting tool (gifted) from @whatsupnails French tip stickers and magnet from Amazon I waited ~30 minutes to apply the peely base, which also acts as a barrier so the top coat doesn't mess up the bead. I slightly unstickyfied the French tip stickers so they wouldn't take the polish with it. Make sure the peely is fully dry first. Then I stamped the stickers with the non sticky side facing the stamper. I made my reference dots a little too big so they'd show up on camera. If you mess up you can clean up the pupil with acetone so you don't have to start all over! (As long as you use the peely base) #cateyenails #realcateye #spookyseasonnails #halloweennails #magneticnails by @nailpaulie

Fun fact - I always take my beach trips in the fall! It's kinda fall tradition at this point. I wanted something beachy but not summery. So I went with @beeskneeslacquer Midnight Yoga and Seaweed which happened to go with my dresses really well! I also used the Quick Thinker Top Coat from @opaltheorypolish (gifted) which protected me from all the beachy elements. It's definitely salt water, sand, and soggy finger approved! I started the trip out with @opaltheorypolish Cassieopia A still on. I used a peely base (Holo Taco) so was planning for them to pop off in the first couple days. But they ended up staying on for 5 days! Also my index tip broke completely off right before the trip ๐Ÿ˜ญ I patched it back on with a silk patch and it lasted up until the end of the trip. I took a blow to my nail from my boogie board and it knocked off the glue/silk on the back of my nail. And then the tip fell off later that night. But the polish at least kept its structure and stayed intact ๐Ÿ˜‚ by @nailpaulie

My middle finger is the same application from my Blade mani. This is 4 days later. I redid the pinky. My ring finger has Cirque's peely base on top and the rest have the water thinned glue mixture. I waited about an hour after the magnetic layer to apply the glue/peely. This is in direct sunlight. I have more glue infos, peely base infos and comparison infos!! All the infos!!!! This is a loaded dump so brace yourselves! First, this is a comparison of @beeskneeslacquer Blade of the Frontiers and I'm Tired of Starving. Starving is on my index and ring Blade is on my middle and pinky Starving's base color is more teal than Blade. The fine magnetic particles also have a greenish tint in Starving and there are larger, scattered gold particles. It's part of the Bog Dweller family. It reminds me of Caribbean waters ๐Ÿ๏ธ Starving was also one of the most difficult magnetics I've ever tried to magnetize ๐Ÿ˜ตโ€๐Ÿ’ซ The particles stuck super fast, so I had to demagnitze while painting. But then the first swoop of the wand made particles stick on one side. I was going for a tighter bead for a better comparison to Blade, but that was quite difficult. For everything in this post, all nails use KbShimmer Fillin Groovy base coat as the first layer, and Essie's gel setter top coat as the last layer (unless specified otherwise) The cliff notes version is that the wait time between the polish and the glue/peely layer is the most important factor, regardless of which one you use!! 1 hour wait is my current recommendation. This is the full video of me painting/magnetizing my middle finger. I magnetized for 20 seconds. I'm still trying to get the hang of painting these fine fine particles. I'm also surprised I didn't get bubbles using that thick of a coat. I'm not sure what caused that dent in my ring finger, but it seemed to look worse as the day went on. You can see the early stages of the peely crinkling too. Artificial lighting. This is the next day. The crinkle is definitely more crinkly. My glue fingers held up though (except my pinky tip) I showered the night before. Another long and hot one. Idk why I keep doing that the day I paint my nails ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Crinkle by @nailpaulie
