If only our brains came with an “unsend” button. 💭↩️

This week’s CWS tabling was extra special as we teamed up with NAMI on Campus to make space for conversations around mental health, connection, and the thoughts we’d all like to leave behind.

From overthinking and comparison to perfectionism and negative self-talk, students stopped by to choose what they’d unsend and what they’d rather replace it with. 💚

A little reminder from our table: you don’t have to believe everything your brain sends you.

Catch us at our weekly CWS tablings for more conversations, resources, activities, and little moments of wellness around campus. ✨

Reach out. Check in. Show up. 💚
You don’t have to have the perfect words. Sometimes, simply letting a friend know you’re there can make a difference. How do you show your friends you’re there for them?

We all have that friend who says “I’m okay” no matter what. Reach out anyway. Your presence can make all the difference💚

Sometimes, checking in is as simple as letting someone know you’re thinking of them.

Learn more about starting the conversation at SeizeTheAwkward.org.
If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, call, text, or chat 988 for 24/7 support.

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Remind yourself and those around you: you matter, and so does your story. If things ever feel heavy, know that you are never alone, and reaching out for support is a sign of strength💚

Struggles are not always visible, and conversations about mental health don’t always come easy. That’s why prevention can start with something as simple as showing up for the people around us. Check in on a friend. Listen without judgment. Let someone know you’re there.

You don’t need to be an expert to make a difference. Sometimes, simply showing someone that you care can open the door for them to talk about what they’re going through or take the next step toward getting support.

To learn more about starting these conversations and finding support, visit nami.org/SPM and seizetheawkward.org.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, help is always available:
📞 Call, text, or chat 988, immediately

Hi everyone we’re NAMI on Campus.

On August 26, severe flash floods and landslides hit parts of Nepal, particularly communities along the Trishuli and Bhote Koshi river corridors in districts including Rasuwa and Nuwakot, resulting in loss of life, displacement of families, people still unaccounted for, destruction of homes and livelihoods, severe damage to critical infrastructure, and disruption of essential services.

For many of us who are studying far away from home, situations like this can feel especially difficult. When something like this happens in our home country and we know that our people are suffering, being thousands of miles away can bring a deep sense of worry, helplessness, and pain. Family is such an important source of strength for many of us, and watching a devastating crisis unfold in Nepal while being so far from home can be incredibly difficult.

It can be hard to carry on with classes and everyday responsibilities while carrying the weight of what is happening back home.

Whether you have family directly affected by the crisis, are personally affected as an international student, or are simply carrying the weight of what is happening while trying to focus on school, we want you to know that your grief, anxiety, and distress are completely valid. In moments like this, you do not have to process everything alone.

NAMI On Campus stands in solidarity with our Nepali community, the Nepalese Student Association, and every student affected by this crisis.

If you need someone to talk to, Wright State’s Counseling and Wellness Services @cws.wsu is available in 053 Student Union. You can reach them at 937-775-3407 to connect with a counselor. For immediate or after-hours support, Raider Cares is also available at 937-775-4567.

Please reach out and take care of yourselves.

You may be far from home, but you do not have to carry this alone.

We stand with the Nepali community🇳🇵 by @cws.wsu

To our Nepali community here at @wrightstateu : with everything happening back home right now, we know some of you and your families may be going through an incredibly difficult and uncertain time.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, worried, or simply need someone to talk to, please don’t hesitate to reach out to Counselling and Wellness Services @cws.wsu . Even if you feel like you are doing okay, sometimes talking to someone can help more than we realize. CWS services are completely confidential, and your information will not be shared without your permission. They are there to listen, support you, and help you through difficult moments. Please don’t hesitate to use the support available to you.

Please check in on your friends, look out for one another, and remember that NSA is here for you too. If you need help connecting with resources or simply need someone to talk to, you can always reach out to us privately.

Let’s look out for each other. 🇳🇵

Checking in with yourself is just as important as checking your email. 💚
This International Self-Care Day, take a few minutes to recharge whether that’s stepping outside, staying hydrated, getting enough rest, connecting with someone you trust, or simply taking a deep breath. Small moments of care can make a big difference. 🌿
