Happy 27th birthday to India's 400m hurdler Nanhi Pannu (@nanhipannu), a U23 record holder and South Asian gold medallist who won the 400m hurdles at India's first-ever National U23 Championships and now races in Texas for Texas A&M-Kingsville.

That U23 title came in 2021 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, racing for Haryana. "I wasn't tired when I crossed the finish line," she said. In 2023 she ran a personal best of 59.02 to win bronze at the National Games in Goa.

Then came America. In 2025, for Cloud County in Kansas, she won the NJCAA Region 6 long jump title, was named High Point Athlete of the meet and reached the national 400m hurdles final. This year, for the Javelinas, she ran an indoor 400m best of 58.46 in Houston and won the 100m hurdles on her home track at Javelina Stadium. She studies kinesiology at Kingsville.

From her own July caption: "बस मुस्कुराना ही काफी है।" Just smiling is enough.

जन्मदिन की शुभकामनाएं, Nanhi! Wishing you health, happiness and fast laps, from Kingsville all the way home to Haryana. 🎂🎁🎉🫶🫶🇮🇳
