✨ Want to intentionally focus on Scripture even in the daily hustle of family life?

This resource is a great fit for the busy mom who is looking for a way to genuinely & practically connect with Scripture. These Psalms and Proverbs In the Word journals from @reformationheritagebooks, designed in partnership with @littlethingsstudio, invites the Christian woman to take a deep breath and s l o w d o w n.

📖 What it is:
Each In the Word journal gives space to work through copying out a book of the Bible line by line. With study questions and devotional reflections for each chapter of the Book, these journals offer an uncomplicated space for meditating on God’s Word.

💛 Why I love it:
• In this season of littles, I can be guilty of just rushing through my time in the Word to “check it off.” Writing the Word has invited me to adjust my approach and change my pace. It requires me to slow down and invites me to reflect on what I’m writing. In the midst of my often busy & distracted days, the simple act of putting pen to paper creates a quiet place for returning to God’s Word.
• I love that no matter how much time I have to sit with the Word on a particular day, I don’t have to keep up a schedule with this journal. I’m not following a complicated method that feels draining. All I have to do is open my journal, begin to write God’s Word, and trust His Spirit to work.

👏 Best for:
We believe In the Word journals as an ideal companion for any Christian living out there ordinary routine. These beautifully designed Psalms and Proverbs ones are especially perfect for the Christian women in your life…and there are releasing in time for Christmas ! *hint hint*

Have you tried writing out Scripture? Or what’s way you engage with Scripture in busy seasons? Let me know in the comments! 👇

🌿 This is the nature study resource you’ve been looking for… 🌿

These books will help your family slow down, look closer, and wonder at the world around them! 📚🌱

🌿 What’s it about?
Eyes and No Eyes Series by Arabella Buckley from @livingbookpress contains 6 original and unabridged natural world books with full-color photographs. Topics include a whole host of nature study topics - Woods & Fields, Ponds & Rivers, Plants & Trees, Birds & Insects.

👧🏻 Who is it for?
These are a great choice for homeschool families who are fostering an approach to nature full of curiosity and wonder. They’re targeted toward children ages 7-12.

⭐️ What did we think?
For our homeschool this year, I’ve selected resources that allow me to cultivate times learning together as a family. With four kids under 7 years old, including a newborn, I knew it would fit our family best if I could invite the children to all learn together, instead of individually targeted subjects for each one. That is why I have loved these books for our nature study this year.

The simple language and story-based approach is so engaging for even my littlest listener. Each chapter is blessedly short and allows for interest to be piqued without their attention being lost. We’re especially enjoying the full-color crisp photographs which allow us to visualize what we may not be able to find in our backyard.

💚 Why I’d recommend it:
When I say these are simple, I mean it. Once or twice a week, during morning time, I read aloud a chapter to the children and then we narrate what we’ve heard and discuss it. I love that these books encourage my children’s natural wonder and curiosity

📚 NON-FICTION FEATURE: Made To Marvel

📚 What’s it about?
This devotional guides families to encounter and see God’s goodness in His creation. As you slow down and marvel at plants, bugs, & animals, both you and your kids will know more about who God is and about the intentional purpose of His creation.

📚 Who should read it?
We are currently reading it as a family devotional every morning before school. My kids (ages 4 & 8) are so fascinated by the facts featured for each topic and are engaging by asking many questions throughout the reading.

📚 Why is it worth reading?
When I say this may be my favorite family devotional, I am not exaggerating. My kids stay engaged and interested as they listen to the lovely storytelling. But it’s not just that - what I love most is that my kids are being pointed to Jesus as they learn about things like animals, bugs, and plant. In short, this devotional encompasses everything I’m looking in for to keep my kids engaged: strong theology, rich storytelling, & fascinating facts.

✏️ HOMESCHOOL MAMA’S RESOURCE: For the Childen’s Sake

✏️ What is the focus?
A holistic, Christian-based guide for creating joyful, enriching educational experiences that celebrate life and prepare children for living.

✏️ Who’s it for?
This book can be approached as a sampling overview of the Charlotte Mason philosophy of education. I would say it’s best received by Christians that are more inclined toward a classical & literature-based approach to learning. Or, if you’re curious about an alternative approach to education, rather than just “school-at-home”.

✏️ Why do we love it?
This is a core homeschooling reference book for me and one I return to offer for guidance and encouragement! Reading this book helped to solidify my own personal convictions about what I desire education within our home to look like. It also helped to inform me on different ways to accomplish the desire to make education a warm and inviting atmosphere of our home, and not just something we do within a few hours of the day.

I also really admired the author’s ability to make these educational ideals compelling for both home and standard classroom educational use. Charlotte Mason developed her principles with the belief that they were “Laws” under which all people operate. It makes sense, then, that she (and the writer of this book) would feel strongly that all children, in all learning environments, would greatly benefit from this philosophy.

📖 CURRENTLY READING

🦢Currently Reading: The Swan House by Elizabeth Musser

🎧📚Format: Physical Book - This beautiful new re-release edition!

📖 What it’s about (so far): It’s the 1960s in Atlanta when tragedy strikes a young privileged girl’s family and the events of one year alter the course of her life forever.

✨ First thoughts so far: There have been a few unique elements right off the bat: the inclusion of poetry and art to the foundation of the plot line, a unique Dare challenge at the local private girl school, and the true historical airline crash that helps thrust the story forward. It’s intriguing to think about where the book might lead!

🤍 Why I picked it up: I’m always in the mood for a historical fiction book! Also, I read one of Elizabeth Musser’s books a few years ago (The Sweetest Thing) and I enjoyed it, so I was excited to pick up another one!

We want to thank the author and the publisher for generously sending us copies of this beautiful re-release edition to share with you all! by @naptimereaders

✨ Read this if you love contemporary romance!

⭐️ Rating: ★★★★

My thoughts: This was a fun & lighthearted read, with just the right dose of humor and romance! I haven’t been a huge fan of Monaghan’s other books, so I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this one.

Dolly was a very likable lead and the chemistry between her and Stewart was believable & adorable. It starts in a fake-dating situation, but I still liked how their relationship was built on true friendship. Of course Stewart was the “perfect” male lead - small town celebrity falls for the hardworking single mom and he’s, conveniently, a millionaire. But isn’t that the happy ending we want when we’re reading a cotton-candy romance novel?

Best part: The way Dolly loved her brother with disabilities was beautiful- no frustration or annoyance, just real love for him. I also really liked the focus on the importance of community and relationships, how we’re not meant to do it all on our own and the beauty that comes when we let others help us.

Content note: This is a mainstream contemporary romance novel, so the content reflects that - a few bedroom scenes with mildly descriptive content, along with occasional profanity & alcohol use.

Save & share with a fellow romcom reader!
