One of my absolute all-time favourite sculptures in the entire world is my grandmother Zofia Wolska’s piece “Ballet” from the 1960s. Tony Cragg can take a seat!
Babcia Zosia… I absolutely adored her. She was the one who taught me how to sculpt in clay, and together we organised my very first events. Truly special art workshops for children with Down syndrome. We were such a team. I know how much she loved me. She even brought Enrique to me! (Yeah, yeah, Enrique was the big thing at the time!) 😬
I was completely mesmerised by her. I admired her distinguished style, her class, her chic, her jewellery, her perfume…
I still have some of her clothes and I wear them very often. And that perfume will forever be my favourite. Some of my friends know exactly which one.
Her kitchen, filled with the scent of fresh KOPEREK and vanilla pudding always for dessert!

Nie trzeba rozumieć sztuki, aby wiedzieć, że należy wspierać jej niezależność. Wielu artystów w naszym kraju tworzy dzieła, które nie mieszczą się w komercyjnych ramach pojmowania kultury. Niszowe, wyjątkowe, odważne i ważne. 15% artystów zarabia poniżej 1900 zł miesięcznie. Państwo polskie czasowo zaopiekuje się tymi, którzy nie czerpią zysku ze swojej twórczości. Ok. 20 tys artystów włączymy do systemu ubezpieczenia społecznego. Politycy nie są od oceniania artystów, są od tworzenia dobrego prawa. A Ministerstwo Kultury jest od pracy na rzecz środowiska ludzi kultury. Bo kultura to też jest praca. Dlatego wraz z wiceministrą pracy i polityki społecznej @jasnezegajewska odwiedziłem dziś wystawę Marka Bimera. Do 29 maja na warszawskiej Ochocie można podziwiać jego nieoczywiste instalacje świetlne. Marek Bimer to twórca działający na pograniczu tradycyjnej rzeźby i autorskiego wzornictwa. Na ekspozycji Oświecenie prześledzimy ewolucję artysty z ostatnich 40 lat działalności, zwieńczoną najświeższymi projektami. Główną osią wystawy są nowatorskie konstrukcje luministyczne. Cieszę się z tego jak wielu młodych ludzi sięga po nieoczywiste, jak chłonie sztukę, jak wspiera jej twórców.

In the newest issue of @vogue.polska.living , you will find a moving article about our studio and all the people who stand behind it. Without their passion, dedication and work, none of these works of art could exist.

Almost five years later, we once again had the pleasure of giving a special interview to the same exceptional person, now Deputy Editor-in-Chief, @joanna_lazarz . Although it is still very difficult for us to speak about it, this time we are meeting in a slightly different circle, yet still strong as a family and as friends. @marek_bimer @nataliabimer @instarurzyk

The previous article connected our family with the Vogue family forever, which is why we are very grateful for the announcement of our upcoming show in May, probably the largest monographic exhibition of collectible design ever presented in Poland, with Vogue as the main media partner.

Zorganizowali wystawę, na której ludzie płaczą, chodząc wśród obiektów rozmieszczonych w starej hurtowni farmaceutyków. „Oświecenie” Marka Bimera i Natki Bimer, córki artysty i kuratorki wydarzenia, to prawdziwe przeżycie gdzieś między obszarami sztuki, dizajnu i backroomsowej opowieści.
