Airplane toy (2022). I was randomly folding paper when I discovered a structure that might be suitable for creating the tail of an aeroplane. From there, I approached the figure in a more organised way.

Indigo bunting (2026). Last year I wanted to try out a structure (based on the preliminary base) to make a dragon, but halfway through I lost interest… I already have three dragons, and at that moment I just wasn’t in the mood to keep going. Anyway, I ended up making a little bird out of blue paper, so even though the shape would work great for other birds, I grew fond of the color I picked (random as the choice was).

Perrete (2026).

Playful pup (2026). After finishing the ‘Rat of Hamelin’, I set out to create a dog using a variation of the same base (I actually started the figure last year). My first attempt was a bit too wild and never quite worked, so I shifted to this version, still lively but with a cleaner design and a more dynamic pose.

My penguin. I'm reposting this figure from 2022, which was perfect as a finger puppet.

Little rider (2026). A tiny little man riding on a hamster forms this piece, created from a single sheet of paper. Both appear ready to charge into battle and defend their beloved forest.

This creation has a sister figure that I hope to show you soon. It has a more naturalistic character, although I still need to adjust some proportions. I call them sisters because they share the same base. I considered keeping only one, but each had its own supporters among those who have already seen them, and I couldn’t bring myself to choose.

Serpiente listada (2026).

Striped snake (2026). While I was on and off trying to complete my third tiger, I developed this snake using a similar method, although in a much simpler way. The main difficulty is the number of overlapping layers in the neck area (which makes it hard to fold).

I hesitated for a while about whether to finish it or not: it’s a bit short (though that can be seen as comical), and the base isn’t 100% new. Even so, the process was different enough that it didn’t feel like an issue, so I went ahead and set the final references to complete it.

Asian Tiger (2026). Last year I designed an adult tiger that I was genuinely pleased with. Even so, that success made me eager to keep exploring new ways of creating a tiger’s stripes. I came up with a base design I was happy with, but I couldn’t find a good solution for the head, so it had to wait until now to be completed.

(So as not to bore you with so many pictures of ‘figure collections’, I’ve put this one as the second photo).

Abada (2026).

Abada (2026). Abada is an old Spanish term used to refer to the rhinoceros, derived from the Malay (Badaq). This is already my fourth rhinoceros, so I looked for an original name.

As for the figure: I am looking for a suitable base for another animal and, although I haven’t found it yet, I tend to evaluate the possibilities of the bases I end up discarding. One of them resulted in this rhinoceros.
