Confession: I'm a HubSpot partner with an empty HubSpot. I build portals for clients all week. Mine still asks if I'd like to get started. A year in, I'm finally building my own, and I'm doing it out loud. What I chose, what I skipped, what I got wrong and rebuilt. Marketing engineering, in practice. My own portal is case one. Follow along. I'm curious how it goes too. #hubspot #hubspotpartner #hubspotcrm #marketingengineering #buildinpublic #crm #marketingoperations #revops #marketingautomation #b2bmarketing #fractionalmarketing #smallbusinesssystems by @theinnovationdept

Don’t let your dreams stay dreams. Four years ago this was an empty shell. Today someone is coming over to record in the studio. Keep going. #dreams #creative #life #keepgoing taken in Tampa, Florida by @theinnovationdept

I might have accidentally built my favorite AI video editing workflow. Instead of scrubbing through hours of footage just to find the usable clips, I’m using Claude to audit the footage, understand what’s being said, identify the strongest selects, and organize everything for the edit. The goal isn’t to have AI make the creative decisions. It’s to eliminate the hours of mechanical work before the creative decisions start. This is the kind of AI automation I’m most interested in: small systems that quietly give you hours back. Would you trust AI to make your first round of video selects? Follow for more tips on how to engineer your marketing. #AIWorkflow #ClaudeAI #VideoEditing #ContentCreation #AIAutomation ContentWorkflow CreatorTools MarketingAutomation Build systems to gain leverage. taken in Florida by @theinnovationdept

After 20 years of following my interests and thinking WTF am I doing because it was engineering, construction, data, product development, cameras, IT and then marketing… everything worked out exactly as it should and in a way I never could have planned. Now my agency @theinnovationdept helps businesses grow using everything I have learned from my 20 years of pursuing my interests. Now my work feels a lot like play bc I’m interested in all of it (except all the forms and registrations 😑) #followyourinterests #content #marketing taken in Tampa, Florida by @theinnovationdept

I spent this morning on two unglamorous things. Wiring up analytics on an event site, and sending one email. Twenty-five people registered off that one send. We’re seven weeks out. Last year the whole thing was 200 people total. No viral post. No grand plan. Just a small action, done well, done early. We love to wait for the big audacious move. Meanwhile the small boring task in front of us is the one that actually moves the number. Break the grand thing into small things. Build systems so they happen consistently. Stack them up. That’s how you engineer marketing. #engineeryourmarketing #marketingengineer #smbmarketing #growthmrketing taken in Tampa, Florida by @theinnovationdept

20 years later and all of my experience finally makes sense. I was training to be a marketing engineer before that was even a thing. Really excited to share what I have been doing to help small businesses grow over the years in a way that aligns with my interests which are at the intersection of technology and creativity. And no, you don’t need to be an engineer to follow along and implement some these tools and systems. #marketingengineering #marketing #businessgrowth #contentmarketingstrategy #engineeryourmarketing taken in Tampa, Florida by @theinnovationdept

I built the whole thing myself. Designed it, wrote it, shipped it live. Four tools, one afternoon. No more waiting for resources. No budget approval. - Nate #marketingengineering #marketingengineer #claudedesign #claudecodeformarketers taken in Tampa Florida by @theinnovationdept
