Website for @nathansolo_live

(Which Is me when I don’t do design)

I wanted something straight to the point, brutalist and timeles. The whole website is one pager with sections of links to all social media where I operate, some text about the projects, overview of past events, releases, merch and some media links.

Initially I created the first website as single HTML file and than continue with Claude to update the site untill this version (currently V.5).

It is interesting experience to move from hands on designer and developer to a curator that just write commands. It feels like being the annoying client that send constant updates via e-mail untill its completely different than the initial version.

I love it and I hate it at the same time. Creating with AI took last bits of fun from creative work. But for the sake of speed and cost it is really the best way now. I guess we will have to became a prompt curators, tastemakers and if we want to create something ourself we should start drawing doodles into notepads again.

Amazing event last Friday with great crowd and a club team that took maximum care about us and the event. We are grateful to @lagraviereliveclub to give us the opportunity to present a more than a month in full focus of development.

Audio reactive installation like from a William Gibson
book series. Scrapyard office-monitors from a local life insurance company that replaced life with AI agents.

Dystopian aesthetics hiding the act of revolt - use what is trash and create new. We created a totem of visual information, scenes from psychedelic trips, audio reactive stories, data driven shapes and colors and stroboscopic flashes of keywords to stimulate visitors mind. Create, Share, Support - amongst other. List goes up to hundreds.

Thank you all for making my last day of the year the very beautiful one.
Thanks to @uncalled4.fattym and @schwacko for inviting me to their @komikswarehouse mega party with huge lineup and brutal soundsystem, giving me the best time slot possible.

What is that small light dancing far,
like a flickering candles documented on a film.

Snapshot of time that happened before I was born,
it travelled for so long and finally land in the eye.

Things happened in past, things we could not live,
but they are here now, affecting our life.

I did the main parts of this track a long time ago, its artefacts are noticeable already in a record tape I did for @xyz_project label almost 8 years ago. It’s on YouTube.

The track is now released on Dub Techno label from Prague where the founder of XYZ, Oliver Torr, had its release when the Axaminer started. Things closing circle for me that way.

I redo the track to fit little more the Dub techno flavor of the VA sampler, yet without knowing the other tracks I still delivered alternative take on ambient techno or dub techno in general. It has all the elements of dub techno, the kick, rhythms, moods, pads and delays. However in this case the delays become reverbs, it is not the dub techno you find in hot 100 by Beatport.

It is a meditative long time travelling astral plains doing yoga or tripping your sweaty socks out of your dancing shoes techno.

I also love Boards of Canada.

I was for last couple of weeks working on a AV Show for @pulserecords.ch with @e_garbage_ it was a lot of work. He is building the hardware, and I am build a system of 30 scenes in touch designer that should react to the sound we gonna play in real time.

We will show the first fruit of our collaboration this Friday at @lagraviereliveclub and I am really grateful that we got the room to perform and that I could create this project.

Working as visual designer for all my life, doing music just as hobby, I always had the itch to combine the interests into one project. Now it all aligned…

The track is my unreleased, video is a render loop from the upcoming show.

Big metal creature floating around Lausanne is perfect visual match for the concept of Theropodos EP.

Exploration of imaginary sounds from the prehistoric era, how these creatures and nature might sounded in that times.

Three tracks made only via FM synthesis to counterpoint the organic sound results.

Nathan Solo is a Lausanne-based artist. His sound is primarily dark and raw, with a strong Berlin-influenced techno foundation enriched by electro elements. He also likes exploring more experimental and lo-fi textures. Alongside music, Nathan works as a graphic and visual designer, collaborating with music collectives and galleries.He is the co-founder of the Swiss label Pulserecords.ch, which releases music digitally and on cassette.

Last show with @folnui at @almacen.grottes was awesome! I needed so much this connection with arts and technology together.

The whole evening started with great concert of @thesoftnesss and I was stoked to finally see her live! Than I did some of my shenanigans and after that party continued with @e_garbage_ delivering his new postapo synth set. But the best part was as usual when me and bro E-Poubelle did a jam for another hour and delivered proper techno with all channels +12db. What a blast!

Thank you all for being there. Thanks the artist for great music. Thanks Folnui and Grottes for inviting me. May all my gigs be like this forever 🍀💚
