This is Nations of Coaches… by @nationsofcoaches

We closed out our 2026 Preseason Growth Series with one of the conversations we most wanted coaches to hear. In “Dealing with Stress and Anxiety,” Chad Prewett and Sean Reed talk honestly about the pressures of coaching and what it looks like to care for your mental health in the middle of a demanding season.

This clip is a glimpse of that conversation. You can watch the full session and catch up on every session from this year’s Preseason Growth Series in our video library. Coach Bob Richey discusses the culture of the players on @furmanmbb and how intentionality with conversations and check-ins got them there! by @nationsofcoaches

Coach, give today a clear assignment.

Have the conversation. Teach the next detail. Encourage the player who’s struggling. Then let today’s work be enough for today.

Your players will make mistakes. You’ll have adjustments to make. Some answers will only come through playing and you can lead well while you’re still learning what this team needs.

God is with you before the outcome is known. Ask Him for wisdom for this practice, patience for this conversation, and peace for tonight.

“Do not worry about tomorrow…” — Matthew 6:34
Coach the team in front of you. Be present with the people beside you. Trust God with what you cannot see yet. You don’t have to coach the whole season today.

Send this to a coach who could use the encouragement and be sure to join us for this Thursday’s final Pre Season Growth Series session, you won’t wanna miss it! by @nationsofcoaches

Coach, the pressure you carry doesn’t always show up on the scoreboard.

This Thursday, we’re closing out the 2026 Preseason Growth Series with an honest conversation about stress, anxiety, and the challenges of coaching in today’s college basketball environment. It may be the most important session you tune in for.

Join Chad Prewett, former Auburn Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach, and Sean Reed, speaker and author, as they share perspectives on navigating the pressures of the profession, on and off the court.

Coach, as you prepare your team for the season, remember what else you’re building. The way you respond to mistakes. The attention you give a player who’s struggling. The integrity you model when a shortcut would be easier. These everyday moments teach lessons your players will carry long after their final game.

Prepare to compete. Pursue excellence. And trust God with the work, you may never get to see fully grow. by @nationsofcoaches

These moments from our Character Coach Training reflect the heart of this ministry: people committed to prayer, presence, and walking alongside coaches, student-athletes, and families through every season.

Before they pour into a team, they pray…for one another and for the people God is entrusting to their care.

On the mountaintops, a character coach is there to celebrate and give thanks. In the valleys, they’re there to listen, pray, and help carry the weight. Through it all, they point people back to the hope and strength found in Christ.

We believe there is power in having someone on your team who cares for your soul, knows your burdens, and reminds you that you don’t have to carry them alone. 🤍 by @nationsofcoaches

Billy Graham once said, “A coach will impact more people in one year than the average person will in an entire lifetime.” That’s the power you have, Coach…and student athletes need mentors and strong coaches now more than ever!

Grateful to Lavall Jordan for this good word at our leadership clinic earlier this year! by @nationsofcoaches

The season is getting closer, and the pressure to have every answer is getting louder. But not every decision has to be made today, and not every area of growth can be accelerated.

Coach with purpose. Maintain the standard. Keep moving forward. But don’t allow the urgency of the season to make you impatient with the people you’re leading, or with yourself 🏀 by @nationsofcoaches
