In honor of National Author’s Day, we’re spotlighting Dr. Mark Brouker, National University MBA alum, retired U.S. Navy Captain, and author of Lessons from the Navy: How to Earn Trust, Lead Teams, and Achieve Organizational Excellence. With 25+ years of leadership experience — including command of one of the world’s largest naval hospitals and executive oversight of ten hospitals serving 800,000 patients — Dr. Brouker now brings those lessons to Fortune 500 companies, military organizations, and universities across 21 countries through Brouker Leadership Solutions. His book makes the case that trust isn’t soft, it’s strategy. And for leaders at every level, that reframe changes everything. Are you an NU, NCU, or JFKU alumnus with a published book? We’d love to feature your work — reach out at our profile link or message alumni@nu.edu! #nationalauthorsday #NationalAuthorsDay by @natunivalumni

Every day, first responders answer difficult calls, solve complex problems, and support their communities when they're needed most. Today, we're also proud to recognize the many students, alumni, faculty, and staff who serve in public safety, emergency response, and related fields. Thank you for your commitment, service, and dedication to helping others. by @natunivalumni
We're proud to spotlight Andrew Strong (NU, MA, '09), recipient of the inaugural Partners for Justice Champion Award and a public servant with 25+ years of service — including nine years as a U.S. Navy Hospital Corpsman and 18 years with San Diego County. His vision brought PFJ to San Diego as the only site in the nation focused exclusively on youth in the legal system, helping 300+ young people access housing, health care, and education since 2023. Now stepping into his next chapter through A. Strong Legacy LLC, Andrew is helping youth, veterans, and professionals be fueled by purpose and leave strong legacies of their own. Congratulations, Andrew — here's to the impact still ahead! by @natunivalumni
Today is #MakeADifferenceDay, and the @nationaluniversity community got an early start. Last weekend, the NU Service Corps joined the @cityoftemecula's Day of Service to clean up Santa Gertrudis Creek & Trail. Thank you to Vince (NU, MBA ‘23), NU's director of government relations, for leading our team and welcoming volunteers with coffee and donuts. Service is a core part of the NU community, and it’s even better when alumni, students, friends, and neighbors do it together. If you’d like to get involved in future events, learn more about NU Service Corps in our profile link. by @natunivalumni
