If you had chickenpox in the past, please read this, it is very important!

Chickenpox is usually a mild childhood illness, and most children recover well. But the virus does not completely disappear: it stays dormant in the nervous system and, years later, it can reactivate as shingles.

For many people, shingles appears on the back, chest, or stomach. For others, it can affect the face, legs, or other areas. The first sign can be a strange burning sensation or nerve pain, before any rash appears. A key clue: it usually affects only one side of the body.

In my case, it appeared few days ago on the right side of my face and affected the nerves connected to my eye.

The pain was intense: burning skin, electric shock sensations, and stabbing pain in my eye. Because shingles near the eye can threaten vision and affect facial nerves, it is a medical emergency.

I initially thought it was just herpes or eye strain from computer work. But when the pain became unbearable, I went to the hospital in Muscat. The diagnosis was confirmed: facial shingles.

Luckily, I started antiviral treatment in time. It works best when started as early as possible, ideally within 72 hours after the rash appears.

I am sharing this because I wish I had known. If you have had chickenpox, know the signs and don’t ignore unusual burning or nerve pain, especially on the face as it is the most severe form of shingles.

Please share this information around you. It could help someone react faster.

Take care of yourself ❤️

Throughout my career as a Trekking Guide, I've met many travelers who joined our desert journeys hoping to find answers to their questions—some practical, others deeply existential.

By the end of the trek, they realize that the desert hasn't given them the answers they were looking for. Instead, they discover that something within them has quietly changed.

The desert offers a different kind of gift: it strips away the noise until we can hear our own soul.

That's why Rumi's words feel so true: "What you seek is seeking you."

Perhaps what you are searching for has been walking beside you all along, waiting for the moment you become still enough to recognize it.

The desert does not change who you are. It reveals who you have always been.

This morning, I woke up craving something crispy to enjoy with my coffee for breakfast.

So I grabbed my whole oat flakes and created my own crispy oat bread.

It’s a simple and easy recipe, made with ingredients you can easily find in your own kitchen.

The ingredients:
- 5 tablespoons of whole rolled oats
- 1 egg
- Spices of your choice. For me, I love adding za’atar because it brings back memories of my breakfasts in the Jordanian desert of Wadi Rum.
- A pinch of salt
- A little bit of chili for an extra spicy kick

I used a non-stick pan with a little bit of water, cooked it over high heat at first, then lowered the heat and placed my little oat patties in the pan.
Three minutes on each side, and they were ready!

The result is delicious and nourishing little breads that keep you satisfied. Paired with a black coffee, it’s pure happiness.

A simple way to make a healthy and homemade crusty oatmeal bread, without all the hydrogenated fats found in many supermarket snacks.

Wishing you all a beautiful Friday!

These soft, healthy cookies are made with no added sugar and no added fat. They are perfect for a wholesome snack!

Ingredients:
• 5 tbsp whole rolled oats
• 1 egg
• A pinch of cinnamon
• 1 tsp chia seeds
• A pinch of salt
• 3 fresh dates, or 3 dried dates soaked in water until soft

For my recipe, I simply mixed everything together with a spoon. If you have a blender, feel free to use it for a smoother mixture.

Let the batter rest for 5–10 minutes so the oats can absorb the moisture.

Lightly moisten a non-stick pan with a splash of water and heat it over high heat. Reduce to low heat, then divide the batter into 3 cookie-sized patties. Cook for about 3 minutes on each side until lightly golden.

Top with 99% dark chocolate with no added sugar while still warm.

Serve with your favorite milk: cow's milk, camel milk, goat's milk, or even plant-based milk.

Enjoy 😋

We spend so much of our lives chasing money, believing it's what keeps us safe. But that's not true.

There is something infinitely more precious, something we simply cannot live without: our breath.

If life is already providing the very thing you cannot live without, then it is also capable of providing what you need next.

Pause for a moment. Release the fear of not having enough. Trust God, Life, or the Universe, whatever resonates with you.

Trust doesn't mean doing nothing. It means taking the next step with faith instead of fear.

Take a deep breath, and remember: what truly sustains you has been with you all along.

With the summer heat in Muscat, I make it a habit to drink natural coconut water to stay refreshed and well hydrated.

Naturally rich in electrolytes, it contains potassium, magnesium, calcium, and a small amount of sodium. These essential minerals help support hydration and maintain the body's natural fluid balance.

I am also looking forward to returning to Dhofar, where coconut palms thrive in Salalah. Enjoying fresh coconut water straight from the coconut is one of my favorite simple pleasures.

Wishing you all a happy, healthy, and refreshing summer!

In the silence of Ash-Sharqiya Desert in Oman, the date harvest carries a quiet reminder for the soul.

The palm tree gives without asking. It stands through the heat, rooted in patience, and when the time is right, it offers the sweetness it has carried within.

Just like the human heart: every hardship, every moment of stillness, every unseen prayer is part of a hidden ripening.

May we learn from the date palm to surrender, to trust the timing of life, and to share the sweetness we have been given.

It is noon, and from the balcony I watch a pair of doves resting in silence. The male gently watches over the female, a quiet image of tenderness and devotion.

In Sufi symbolism, birds remind us of the soul’s longing for the Divine. The dove represents love, peace, and the journey of the heart toward the Beloved.

A simple moment in nature… yet a beautiful reminder to slow down, observe, and find the sacred in the ordinary.

Have a good afternoon 🤍
