![Some dreams take years to come true, and sometimes, they happen on the most unexpected journeys. ✨🌌
This isn't just a Milky Way timelapse for me. It's a shot I've dreamed of capturing for years. Countless nights imagining how it would look, wondering when I'd finally get the chance to capture our galaxy with my own camera.
And then came Kalpa, Himachal Pradesh. ❤️
Funny enough, this trip wasn't even planned. One early morning, my friends spontaneously picked me up from home, and before I knew it, we were heading towards the mountains. No proper planning, just an unexpected journey that gave me something I'd been waiting years for.
Under the beautiful night skies of Kalpa, I finally got my chance.
For the Milky Way timelapse, I captured 280 frames with 15-second exposures at ISO 5000 using my Sony ZV-E10 and the humble 16-50mm kit lens. The star timelapse took another 450 frames using a 50mm full-frame lens.
And the funniest part? Both timelapses were captured WITHOUT A TRIPOD because I'd somehow lost mine in Shimla. 😂
Capturing was only half the journey. Editing took another 2–3 days, with failed attempts, multiple re-edits and countless hours squeezed in alongside my regular work.
The final Milky Way footage isn't as clean or detailed as I'd imagined. It's a little noisy and far from technically perfect. But honestly, I still love it.
Because when I look at these frames, I don't just see a video. I see years of dreaming, an unplanned trip, 730 frames, a lost tripod and countless hours of effort.
And finally, I can say: I DID IT! 🌌
Maybe that's the beauty of photography. You don't always need perfect gear, perfect conditions or a perfectly planned trip. Sometimes you just need the courage to chase something you've always wanted to create.
Not my perfect Milky Way shot, but definitely one I'll remember for a lifetime.
