James 1:12 Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

Today, I am honored to announce my graduation from the illustrious Notre Dame of Maryland University, where I have earned my Bachelor of Science.

Throughout my undergraduate journey, I had the privilege of growing both as a leader and as a woman.

✅ Founder, President & Alumni Relations Chair of the Caribbean Student Union
✅ Women in Mental Health Membership Chair
✅ GG Dance Squad
✅ Runway Divas & Dons
✅ Mental Health Education & Outreach Leader
✅ Crisis Intervention Student Clinician Specialist

✨ 4x Morrissy Honors Scholar
✨ 4x Dean’s List Scholar
✨ 4x Marion Burk Knott Scholar
✨ 2023 Honorary Biological Medicine Award
✨ Highest GPA in Major

While these accomplishments reflect dedication and perseverance, they only tell part of my story. This journey was also shaped by profound personal challenges, moments of loss, grief and emotional hardship that tested me in ways I never anticipated. One of the most difficult seasons came with the passing of my godmother, one of my greatest supporters, just before the start of my third year. Her loss changed me deeply, but her wisdom, love and belief in me continue to guide my path every single day.

This journey was not easy. It required resilience, faith and unwavering commitment. There were many tears, some from pain, others from gratitude but through it all, I endured. I stand here today knowing that I am nothing without God and it is only through His grace that I have made it this far.

As I reflect on this chapter, my heart is filled with gratitude. Although my journey did not unfold exactly as I once imagined, it shaped me into the woman I am today, stronger, wiser, and deeply rooted in purpose. Nothing I went through was in vain, and I give all glory to God for carrying me through every season of my life.

Isaiah 43 reminds me that God honors the journey without anchoring me to it. What once formed me will not confine me. I release the former things and step into what’s unfolding - quietly, intentionally, and with faith. God is doing a new thing, and I’m choosing to perceive it.
This is my becoming.
