my third time at @amuro.au and it never gets old!!

they’re a japanese bar inspired by the midnight diner. think flavourful small bites, an extensive drink menu, and a warm intimate vibe.

highly recommend for your next date night 🩵

love the quirky touches throughout such as the cutest chopstick rests and crayon shin chan decor!

standout of the night. the smoked soy sauce added so much depth and complexity to an otherwise simple dish.

silky smooth scallops topped with furikake to add texture to each bite.

best karaage chicken i’ve ever had. thick & juicy pieces fried to perfection.

an explosion of flavours. the mushroom tastes almost meaty and the umami dashi butter keeps you reaching for more.

super tender, smoky and smothered in a sticky soy sauce.

they change up some menu items frequently so there’s always something new to try when you visit! by @needforfeed__

imo the best days are simple - filled with good food, drinks and wandering around without an agenda or a specific place to be. nothing groundbreaking but it always feels fulfilling 🤎

what does your perfect day look like?

this place is undoubtedly sydney’s latest brunch sensation. curiosity got the better of me so i had to try it. come with me and find out if it lives up to the hype! 🚗💨

the lines looked crazy but dw they moved fast. there’s lots of indoor and outdoor seating so we were seated within 15 minutes on a sat arvo!

everything sounds so yummy…what should i get? 🤔

there were also pastries for those after a sweet treat but..

ok who are we kidding i was obviously here for this GLORIOUS crispy chicken nanban sandwich ($21.5)!!

this lived up to my expectations and more. the chicken was so crispy, juicy and really well-seasoned. the batter reminded me of twopeck which is my fave fast food fried chicken iykyk 😋 the nanban sauce was creamy with a good amount of tang to cut through the greasiness.

honestly a really high contender for my fave chicken sandwich that i’ve tried. it sets itself apart from the typical chicken schnitzel sandwich that most other shops offer so i think i’ll definitely be back.

ngl the sandwich was a tad bit salty as we got to the end so a drink was much needed. my choice was this sosro matcha cloud ($9.5)!

sosro is an indonesian sweet jasmine tea drink. it was less floral than what i usually expect from jasmine tea and had brown sugar notes that matched the earthiness of the matcha cream top. overall, it was smooth, light and refreshing 💚 by @needforfeed__

i’m a sucker for a creative drink! lmk where i should try next 😗

tucked away in the streets of surry hills is this small eatery serving up thai-chinese flavours. they’re popular for their noodle dishes so i had to try two varieties! the beef noodle soup had such a comforting broth and the beef was soo tender. the dry noodle was my fave, the sauce packed a punch and i loved all the textures throughout the dish (the crispy pops of lard were 🤤). the experience was on par with the dry noodles i had in thailand! highly recommend trying this spot!!

came here for valentines day dinner and it was perfect! the rooftop venue is so stunning and romantic 💘

kiln is a modern australian restaurant, taking inspiration from a range of different cuisines with a focus on incorporating native ingredients. every dish was really enjoyable and unique, which got me curious about the rest of the menu so i’ll definitely be revisiting! standouts were the kingfish tart, kangaroo tartare and mango coconut sticky rice-inspired dessert 🙂‍↕️

superfreak is definitely a unique addition to the sydney cafe scene! one of the best fitouts i’ve seen in a while and the decor gives it such a warm and eclectic vibe. i was drawn to visit by their scandinavian inspired breakfast plates which looked so vibrant and gorgeous.

ngl it was yum but pretty simple, and i felt like the prices were a bit too steep. also the matcha was very watery (i’d order the coffee instead). overall, vibes were a 10/10 but the food was a bit of a miss. if you’ve been here, please let me know if i should give it another try!

i was so prepared for this to be overhyped but it was actually so yummy!! they make the kakigori with so much care, making sure to put syrup and toppings in between layers and shaping it into the cutest round ball - it’s mesmerising to watch 😌

the texture was impeccable, so fluffy and light it’s insane to think it’s literally just ice 🧊 i highly recommend the matcha flavour, it was very prominent and not too sweet 😋 will defs be back some time before summer ends!!
