This fun little hat is freshly blocked! I loved working with these surprise colors from @baby.cat.yarns I used @ponderbird Morning Diner Beanie pattern, but i alternated the narrow stripe colors so I could have all 3 colors together. I could have gone up a size in the pattern to better fit my (big) head ๐Ÿ˜‚ but it's so stinkin' cute that I think I'm going to leave it as is and gift it to a lucky recipient! #famdkss #giftknitting by @needles.and.spade
My Homebody Cardi was the perfect outer layer while visiting Denver this past week. I wore it everyday! This @aliciaplums pattern is definitely going to be a staple in my closet We hiked around Red Rocks and the autumn colors provided so much inspiration for future projects ๐Ÿ‚ by @needles.and.spade
The Homebody Cardi from @aliciaplums is out today! I was fortunate to get to test this lovely pattern & I'm so ready for the weather to cool so I can wear it! If you want to make the coziest layering piece, I can't recommend this pattern enough ๐Ÿ˜Š I made mine with @knit_picks Wool of the Andes & Alpaca Cloud Lace held together. This combination keeps the sweater lightweight with a good amount of drape. The brick-red color is so perfect for fall leaf peeping! by @needles.and.spade
I'm so happy that I could finish this over the weekend! I'm really glad that I decided to leave the reverse stockinette as the right side of my fabric. I love how the colors worked out this way. I feel like the Noro Kakigori shrunk a little bit in blocking (I chose to ignore the care instructions on the tag ๐Ÿซฃ) so the amount of ease is closer to the pattern recommendations, but I think the fabric will relax with wear. Pattern is Sailor Swift Top @kutovakika @noroyarns by @needles.and.spade
Congratulations & happy release day to @sofia_chemknits on your #graphiteminiscarf pattern! I was lucky enough to test this pattern and it is a perfect little accessory ๐Ÿ˜ There were two options & I chose to work the cables throughout in my version. The cable chart was easy to memorize and ended up being great practice for cabling without a cable needle! I used @knit_picks stroll & aloft held together for my version, but a single strand would make the cables pop even more! by @needles.and.spade
It may be October, but I'm working on finishing the last of my summer WIPs for the year. This was my first time using Noro yarns & I'm obsessed with the colors in this Kakigori ๐Ÿ˜ Because of the biasing fabric and the color distribution, I've decided to use the reverse stockinette for my presentation fabric. I really like how the tweedy bits show through on this side! I'm loosely following the @kutovakika Sailor Swift Top pattern, but my gauge is off & I'm including a bit more ease than recommended. How great that we can make our projects totally unique to our preferences! by @needles.and.spade
The Kathy Kerchief from @aliciaplums is out today! I used just about 50g of yarn from @hiddenvalleyfarmwoolenmill to make my version. The textured pattern was so engaging and turned out to be a perfect little travel project earlier this year. I already have plans for more as gifts for the upcoming holiday season! by @needles.and.spade
A walk through the woods this spring inspired me to cast on the Forget-Me-Knot socks by @stoneknits I modified my pair to use ribbing instead of colorwork along the legs and foot. I also used the @thewoollythistle Lochside Socks pattern for the Dutch heel construction. @hartfordyarnworks & @bellafilatostudio yarns by @needles.and.spade
Great day @wisheepwool Warm weather, but thankfully the clouds rolled in! It's so fun seeing the sheep, the dogs & so many beautiful yarns! I didn't look at my shopping list once ๐Ÿซฃ and my "haul" is a bundle of squishy goodness ๐Ÿ˜ by @needles.and.spade
I made my original pair in February using @istexlopi with the chart as written. For my newest pair, I used @northernbeestudio yarn and modified the pattern to include a quilt star-inspired motif. Pattern by @maja_akerstrom and the new chart is modified from @mjmucklestone 150 Scandinavian Motifs book by @needles.and.spade
There's nothing quite like getting swept up in a colorwork chart and watching the pattern develop as you're knitting. I'm working up the @maja_akerstrom Alma mittens, but I've changed the chart using a slightly adjusted pattern from @mjmucklestone Scandinavian chart book. I'm making a few changes as I go & leaving them in so the mitt will be a visual representation of my process ๐Ÿ˜Š This yarn is perfect for the pattern. I'm using @northernbeestudio Moraine Worsted from last year's WI Sheep & Wool Festival in the colors Snow & Bourbon. I wanted to get this worked up in a project before going to the @wisheepwool next weekend! by @needles.and.spade
Slowly catching up to my goal of one pair of socks each month again this year! At one point this summer, I had 4 socks going at the same time... I've come to realize it stresses me out a bit. I didn't feel like I was making progress with all the small needles, tight gauge & long tubes of stockinette or rib ๐Ÿ˜† I didn't really use a pattern for this pair, but used the @earthtonesgirl shadow wrap heel by @needles.and.spade
