Check out the music video for @aortarota ‘s new single ‘envy’ in our bio now 🖤 … aortarota’s ‘envy’ is a tense, electrically-charged anthem that brings heavy grunge energy together with a whipsmart, dancefloor-ready drumbeat, while reflecting on the dark forces at play in our relations with others. ‘envy’ is the first taste of aortarota’s upcoming full-length ACCUMULATION, due 30th April through Negative Hope Records. aortarota is a project of Madrid-born, Glasgow-based artist Raquel Aragón: initially a solo endeavour and now expanded into a full band, her songcraft has expanded to match. Delivered in Aragón’s characteristic biting vocal, ‘envy’ is a meditation on queer relationship dynamics that pull both ways: how relationships can quickly become unbalanced when premature judgements, assumptions, and projections are made. When viewed through the lens of our ego, do we turn the others we admire (or desire) into monsters? by @negativehoperecords
