🔥🏀 by @drchooprdc

The boys name was Devan.

656 days since my last collegiate game

Since that day:
Met 2 alchemists that helped change my life forever, real alchemists.

175 days I slept in my car (over 5 months)
Never missed a day in the gym.

I started my mornings at 6 am everyday. Read my word and prayed. By 9 am I was at the gym until 4 or 5 pm, with no home of my own the gym became my home with all the amenities necessary for me to succeed. A ball, a court and a shower. After 5, I made my way to grab food, then I would uber through the night until 2-3am. Find a parking spot usually around the DePaul area or somewhere north of Chicago (if you know you know😂).

Went to the bsl combine in Canada in October 2024 in the midst of essentially being homeless. 9 teams 2 rounds, 18 picks. I wasn’t one of those picks. Could’ve went back to the comfort of home and turned the cards. I went back to Chicago where I had all the resources I needed to get better. Made an executive decision I would rather die trying to figure it out than give up.

-Mental struggles
-relationships problems
-car struggles
-financial struggles

Starved the old Devan of all the things that made him feel comfortable in an effort to kill him so I could now exist. Genuinely took all the lessons God gave me to the chin and I never asked him why. Kept my faith in him in the face of literal impossible circumstances.

Last week I signed my first contract to play pro ball in The Congo.

If you made it this far, I just wanna let you know all things are possible with The Most High. Keep believing, hold on to your faith.
