Happy Sunday!

Lately I've been reading Artemis by Andy Weir after really loving Project Hail Mary in January, and I honestly don't know how I feel about this book. I still have like 100 pages, and the plot is very intriguing, but I'm not sure I'm sold on our main character. I'll get back to you guys once I finish, but it's interesting to say the least...

What have you all been reading nowadays? Anything that I should definitely read? by @nerdy.bookdragon

Happy Sunday!

There's a busy week behind me, I spent last weekend in Rijeka to relax a little with my friends, just laying on the beach, reading here and there, climbing up a million stairs to the castle, just relaxing things.

Then I had to head back to work on Monday, I am already dreading tomorrow guys, can someone save me from this thing that 9-5 is? Anyyyways...

I finished reading What Feeds Below, which was amazing, a separate review is coming very soon, but I still think about it! I'm also more than halfway through No Longer Human, which is an interesting read, I'm not sure how I feel about it.

And this week was also rich with movies, I went to the cinema three times this week and it feels crazy (my friends went even more!). I watched Mikey and Nicki (I was not a big fan), Amélie (which was a rewatch, and was better than I remembered), and Cars (which was also a rewatch, but it was so nostalgic and I almost cried, multiple times, I love you Lightning McQueen!!).

I think it's officially time for me to say goodbye to the summer, even if the heat lingers around the day, but the nights are getting cooler and I'm finally drinking more tea as well! So wait a little bit and watch me crack open my dark academia books too, because maybe this year will be when I finally tackle The Secret History off my TBR! by @nerdy.bookdragon

Happy Wednesday!

What a fun day! Today is the birthday of Hugh Grant, wishing Happy Birthday to him from here! So naturally me and my friend took our lunch break to a café to celebrate and we listened to PoP! Goes My Heart one too many times today (impossible to do so, it's never enough, especially with some pop hip movements).

Also, the colour coordinated current reads is just an accident, but look at these beautiful pink covers and the tastiest cakes! Take this as a sign to get that sweet treat when it comes your way!

What are you guys currently reading? Have you guys seen the culturally significant movie called Music and Lyrics starring Hugh Grant? If not, please watch it and tell me how did you like it! by @nerdy.bookdragon

Happy Sunday!

And a happy belated End of August to all of us who celebrates (is it too late to buy a ticket to see Noah Kahan next year??). It is also time for my August wrap up, even if it is a little bit late!

August was my best reading month, I have managed to read 6 books, some of which were great some that were not, but it was very enjoyable! (I must mention that I finally watched the Lord of The Rings movies too, for the first time in my life and I'm obsessed!)

I made ratatouille (it was very tasty and it was so much fun to make!) and a bundt cake, I'm in my cooking and baking era again, fall watch out cus I'll be on a roll.

August also contained seeing Florence for the second time this year, and it was a life altering experience, and I think everybody needs to see her perform live, because it is something else. (She also moves on stage as if she'd be hovering above stage? How does she do that??)

I think I always say this, but where have this year gone? How is it September already?? I can't wait for colourful leaves, sweater weather and Over The Garden Wall coming back into my life! by @nerdy.bookdragon

Happy Sunday!

Two posts two days in a row and both of them are reviews? Who am I really? Today I am here with a very special book, in the past 5 years I've barely read in Hungarian for my own entertainment. Somehow I always read books in English, but this year, I picked up a Hungarian literature again and how glad I am that I did. (Thanks again to my friends who recommended it, one of them this year and one of them many years ago, I got around to it!!)

The book is called Journey by Moonlight in English and it is written by Antal Szerb. It is about Mihály who goes on his honeymoon with his newlywed wife Erzsi, and then due to an accident (let's say that, or fate) they get separated and Mihály ends up travelling in Italy alone instead of trying to find his wife, and he constantly yearns for his youth. He is constantly in his inner battle between returning to his 'normal' adult life or trying ti give in to the adventure and try to get back to his youth.

It felt very fitting reading this book after getting married, and even more so reading it when I myself feel a bit lost in life, debating what it is I want to do and how I want to spend my time. I had completely fallen in love with the way Antal Szerb writes, and his humour is certainly unique, and he writes about strange people, bit it just feels great to follow along. We travelled all over Italy and even had some parts of the story take place in Paris. I can't wait to read more of his books, and I also added some quotes from the book (for which I found the English translation) for some flavour!

What is one book that you'd recommend from your home country, that you think more people should read? by @nerdy.bookdragon

Happy Saturday!

I'm here with a rather short review of another short story collection by Bora Chung! I've read Cursed Bunny a year or two ago and I was mesmerized by the stories that Bora Chung can bring to life, and it's safe to say The Midnight Timetable does not disappoint either!

This is a short story collection, that are somewhat connected, they follow the stories of cursed items or beings that are kept in The Institute for research purposes. And in each story you can see how average items turned cursed. I was instantly immersed in these stories and I basically flew through the pages, and I just couldn't put it down.

I fear this book might have just switched me into autumn mode and I need the cool breeze, and the moody, foggy weather with the matching moody reads. Do you guys have any moody, eerie or just overall autumn book recommendations? Also have you read any Bora Chung books before? by @nerdy.bookdragon

Happy Saturday!

As hinted in my stories during the day, it's time I show you the duality of books we're currently reading between me and my husband. Can you guess who is reading what?

I'm currently rereading Six of Crows, and also (not pictured here) reading a book by a Hungarian author that has been recommended to me by multiple friends, and I'm really enjoying it, but that'll get its separate post, because it's a very interesting one.

My husband has been reading this short story collection by Orwell and he's been really enjoying it, there's a story where the takeaway is basically that "you should plant more trees" and said that because of this I should read it as well, so maybe in the future you'll see me reading that as well.

What are you guys currently reading? by @nerdy.bookdragon

Happy Sunday!

I've not been reading in the past few weeks (hopefully it changes very soon), buuut I just realised that I've never mentioned that in May there was a great weekend getaway in Madrid with @all.too.marta.

We walked around the city so much, visited some great bakeries and bookshops. (I managed to only buy one book!) We also had amazing food, like you can't go wrong with anything in Madrid.

Maybe it is time that I read the little prince in Spanish, so that can be the first Spanish book that I read. Also the funny thing is, that most of the Spanish pictures I uploaded here are food pictures, you guys know me, I can't resist a good pastry. Churros, porras, manolitos and palmitas are living in my head rent free. (I don't even dare to mention the number of tinto de veranos that I had...) by @nerdy.bookdragon

Happy Friday!

I had the wonderful chance to spend last week in Ireland, and it was so beautiful, I've no words.

After spending a few days in Dublin, seeing the National Gallery and Trinity among other things, we travelled with the Irish railway to Galway. Then we took a bus to Doolin and then hiked for a few hours and got to Cliffs of Moher. And gosh, guys I've been wanting to go to Cliffs of Moher for years by now, and I have to say that pictures do it no justice. But Cliffs of Moher was a bit too touristy and busy to my liking but the hike from Doolin to get there was even more phenomenal. We really enjoyed that after each left or right in the path we just got to an even prettier lookout point, and the way the waves of the Atlantic crashed it was music to my ears. We were also very lucky with the weather because it was sunny and nice all day, all we needed was a jumper! (Good thing I also bought one in Doolin in the adorable pink sweater shop, it is a staple piece in my wardrobe now.)

I also bought a few books and a vinyl! The books were from a charity shop, so I could not resist such a great bargain! And the vinyl is from Ye Vagabonds, I heard them live during my first visit to Ireland, so it felt fitting to bring them home with myself this time.

What is your favourite place to travel to? Have you ever been to Ireland? by @nerdy.bookdragon

Happy Monday!

A month and no post, but many things happened, mainly one very BIG event. I got married, yayyy!

I've been very busy planning and arranging things in the past half a year, especially in the past few months, but it was all worth it and it is all done. So here are some very pretty and fun pictures (they are much nicer in their real size shame on Instagram), and I'm very grateful to our photographer friends who took this huge responsibility, and took beautiful pictures. Thank you again @matetiitkos and @hveraa_

Also, dancing to ABBA with my dearest friends lives in my head rent free, life changing experience.

Soon I'll be sharing some bookish things, like how I finished my yearly goal already, many reviews are lined up, and also I'm soon due for a half year check in, and many tags to catch up on. Some Ireland honeymoon content is also expected, so yeah, overall many fun things are coming! by @nerdy.bookdragon

Happy Sunday!

I thought this would be a perfect time for a little weekly update, or weekly report to start sharing them, so I would feel a teeny tiny bit more to post.

So, reading, I've been reading How Korean Corn Dogs Changed My Life and I'm really enjoying it. I've also started Legends and Latte's comic book, because I was lucky and got an arc on netgalley!

Eating, I've been enjoying some good homemade pizza, and my grandma made some pasta and coconut rolls, so definitely it's been great!

Obsessed with, this week has been full of great things, like this view from my hike on Saturday, or I also watched Obsession and I loved it, and I could also mention the flowers blooming in my garden! (Oh, also my fiancé' and my wedding bands arrived and I am also obsessed with those, we engraved some lyrics inside of it and it couldn't be more perfect.)

Recommending, Noah Kahan's latest album if you haven't gotten to it yet, it is absolutely amazing, and there are some songs (like Orbiter) that always make me cry. That is how you know it's a great album.

Treating myself to, I did buy a book on Thursday, so here's that, my TBR is never gonna get reduced, which is a scary thought, but maybe I can lock in and read more books from it.

How was your week? Did anything good happen? by @nerdy.bookdragon

Happy Tuesday, and even Happier Release Day for The Ocean Would Paint Me Blue!

I have read this book a while ago, and I went to it with little knowledge about this one. But it was a wonderfully written and beautiful book, that I definitely recommend to everyone.

It follows our main character, Jihad, who has lost her eyesight a little while ago, when she lost her mother. This book deals with grief, identity, family and friendships, and I feel like this book is even more important to read nowadays when everyone can be so judgemental and jumping to conclusions very fast. This story shows how beautiful life can be, if you're willing to see it, and it also breaks your heart how brutal life can be even if you can't see it.

This book is 10/10 tears inducing and heart breaking but it also shows that there are many great things in life. So please, do yourself a favour, and go read it! by @nerdy.bookdragon
