It’s been a year. Here’s another intro post for people who are new to this profile or just wanna get to know me 🥰 Song choice- BMTH are one of my fave bands so that’s why 🥰 Wingspan is still my favourite board game. I haven’t found one to knock it off the top spot yet! I’ll play any game light or heavy if it’s horror, nature or fantasy theme! Here are some other things I do alongside board gaming 🥰 I never know what to put for random facts about myself 🤣 by @nerdygirlgaming
There are lots of different types of games out there and here are a few of my favourites 🥰❤️ I enjoy a game with critters galore! Wingspan will always be my number 1 ❤️ Finspan is my second favourite span as I love the fact the player mats are vertical! @kidstablebg critter games always have the most adorable artwork. I loved the mat in the Flamecraft games and just the overall vibes of the game. Along with the artwork! Koi is a game that @short.stuff.boardgames introduced me to and I love the play and the components 🐠 If anyone ever wants to play the following board games on BGA, hit me up 💖🤣 I love how BGA makes it so accessible for people to play board games online. Roll/Flip and writes are slowly becoming my favourite type of game. Dino World is another game that @short.stuff.boardgames introduced me to and I had to get my own copy because I kept asking her to bring it to our meets because I enjoyed it that much 🤣 Rolling Realms mashes together my favourite @stonemaiergames in roll and write form. I got my copy second hand and need to purchase the expansions for the other games! Flip Pick Towers is one I saw on Instagram, demoed at UKGE and fell in love with it. Who doesn’t want to build fairytale towers?! Paper Dungeons was one I got introduced to at @longrest_gaming board game club and loved the D&D vibes it gave me! I love the Tetris shapes you get to draw in Molehill Meadows for Mika the mole. An easy flip and write to learn! Please recommend me more roll/flip and writes! So, I think I prefer horror games when they’re cooperative? 🤣 I love played Trouble on the Tempus with @short.stuff.boardgames Carl and @mashy_meeples but I always have to play as the hench guy! 💪🏻 Sub Terra is another game where I have to play as the hench man 🤣 what can I say? I love a hench man! I like the chaos this causes especially when you break away from one another. The Horrified series are my favourite coop game series. The latest Horrified all centred around Ravenloft a gothic horror setting in D&D and draws inspiration from the Curse of Strahd campaign which is the D&D campaign I am desperate to play. Eternal Decks surprised me. by @nerdygirlgaming
IT IS MY INSTAVERSARY! To celebrate, my sister @_designsbyscarlett has very kindly created me A BRAND NEW LOGO 😍 I wanted the purple d20 as I felt it represented the fact I play RPGs as well as board games. The skull is to represent the fact I love all things horror ☠️ Also, I enjoyed the cuteness of it and thought it would like AHmazing on a t shirt 🥰 Thanks Scarl for creating this amazing logo for me 💖 by @nerdygirlgaming
October Wrapped! It’s the end of the best month of the year and I am now in mourning. Not long until October 2027 🤭 time does fly! Here’s what games I played this month ➡️ Although it was a nightmare to setup and put away, Horror on the Orient Expess has got to be my game of the month because thematically it’s phenomenal. Annoyed because I can’t find the play badge button now on bgstats? 😅 I played the top row twice and the rest once. I really enjoyed learning Forest Shuffle and Tally Up! at board game club. Played a lot of these with @short.stuff.boardgames on our board games day 🥰 I’m closing in on the challenges! Not long to go! by @nerdygirlgaming
It’s a belated #boardtober post a hashtag created by @getintogames and the prompt for day 31 was everyone is invited! I instantly thought of the adorable panda cards from the Halloween expansion of @pandapartygame 🥰 by @nerdygirlgaming
It’s day 30 of #boardtober a monthly hashtag created by @getintogames and today’s prompt is: THE METAMORPHOSIS HAS BEGUN. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we lived in the Flamecraft world? In a land where we live amongst dragons happily with no drama? Can the metamorphosis into this land begin please? by @nerdygirlgaming
It’s day 29 of #boardtober a hashtag created by @getintogames and today’s prompt is NOTHING HARD IS EVER EASY. It’s hard to escape a maze of wax with a just a candle 🕯️ by @nerdygirlgaming
After a very long time, I give you a #wildcardwednesday post! A hashtag created by @han_playsgames and today’s prompt is SPOOKY VIBES 👻 chosen by MEEEEE. 👻 Don’t Go in There 👥 2-5 players ⏰ 30 minutes 👻 Don’t Go in There is a push your luck, dice rolling game where players play as meddling kids who have broken into a spooky house, touched random haunted objects and as a result, released evil curses! You need to end the game with the fewest curses to win! 👻 On a turn, players place their meeples in rooms they want to explore. Once the room is full, the room is resolved. Above each room are 3 curse cards and the curse value is stated by the monkey paw symbol on the card. Each set of cards has a set of rules. For example, for each set of 3 Jack o Lanterns, you discard 2 Jack o lantern cards. Where you place your meeple in the room determines who chooses which card first. Before cards are chosen, ghost dice are rolled and these are also indicated on the curse cards to state how many ghost dice are drawn. This then determines how many ghost tokens a player takes. Whoever has the most ghost tokens in end game scoring, adds them to their curse value. 👻The game ends when there are no more curse cards left to be drawn and the player with the least curse value points wins! 💭I loved this game. I enjoyed the spooky vibes. I loved the artwork. I liked the different rulings on each set of cards. I played at 2 player and it was fun but would love to see how chaotic the game went at a bigger play count. This is one I want to add to my collection. Just for the ghost tokens alone! Thanks @short.stuff.boardgames for introducing me to this game! by @nerdygirlgaming
It’s day 28 of #boardtober a hashtag created by @getintogames to celebrate all things spooky and today’s prompt is IT WALKED AMONG US. The Halloween promo card from @doomlings is perfect for this prompt! 🤡 by @nerdygirlgaming
It’s Day 27 of #boardtober a hashtag created by @getintogames celebrating all things spooky and today’s theme is IN THE EYES OF THE BEHOLDER. This card from the new edition of @doomlings is perfect for this prompt 🥰 by @nerdygirlgaming
It’s not Cricket Unboxing! I went to the Queen of Unboxing @short.stuff.boardgames to help me film by unboxing of It’s not Cricket! It’s not Cricket was created by @itsnotgames and I really love that they are a family run company who created this game based on their own experiences with neurodiversity. This is reflected through the box design and the components. The dice are made of silicone which softens the noise of die rolling. The playing pieces are also silicone and feel and look amazing! Lu got fomo as I was unboxing them. The player board itself looks amazing and the wooden rack included is to hold the different silicone components. After reading on their website that they have had great reviews from SEND schools, I am looking forward to learning the rules and taking the game into work for my students to try and play! Thank you @short.stuff.boardgames for helping me with the unboxing video 🥰 by @nerdygirlgaming
🚂 Horror on the Orient Express 👥 2-4 players ⏰ 90 minutes 🚂 Horror on the Orient Express is a cooperative game where players play as investigators in the 1920s discovering hidden cultists onboard the Orient Express. 🚂 When you are playing the game for the first time, heed this as your warning, the setup will take some time. Especially assembling the train! But is it worth it? Absolutely! 🚂 Players choose an investigator to play as and each player has skills which can be upgraded later on in the game by resting. On a turn, each investigator takes one main and two minor actions. These will help to investigate the six suspects on board, push back monsters, banish entities, keeping watch for the bloody thirsty vampire hanging onto the train, gathering clues to determine who are the cultists on board. 🚂 Amongst all the chaos on board, you win the game if you identify all the cultists. You lose if there are 7 deaths on board, an investigator loses all their health or sanity, exhausting essence tokens or running out of monster tokens . 💭 For a first play through for us, it did take us some time to setup everything for the first time and to take everything in so please bare this in mind for your first play but it IS worth it. 💭 I enjoyed all the components within the game and how well designed they were for full immersion. Especially the train! 💭 I think there should have been a player aid included for each player with all the symbols etc on just to save on players passing the rulebook around for clarification in the first few rounds. 💭 It took us a couple of turns each to grasp what was the best options for us on each turn to keep the train running and to investigate the suspects. Once I had got a grasp, I did enjoy it and was eager to reveal who the cultists were on the train! 💭 If you’re a fan of Call of Cthulhu, this game is for you! by @nerdygirlgaming
