Bittersweet end to my fourth edition 🥉

This was the first time I felt fully present and aware for almost the entire regatta. I was always in front early, but too conservative to stay there in tricky, shifty conditions. That cost me points every day, and by the last race of each day I was fighting to get back into the game. Finals day was the extreme of it, with my worst and best scores of the series.

I’m disappointed, but I showed myself what I’m capable of, and I’m proud of everything it took to get here. Some thank-yous I need to share:

@arthur_barrue , for going through a hell of a tough season with me and showing me I could fight back every day.
My parents , for holding me to high standards and believing in me through it all.
@mon_brokman , for keeping me grounded and positive with all the points I threw out the window.
Martin, for making me face reality, take accountability, and enjoy the life I choose each day.
The machas in Japan, for making a whole month in Gamagori much fun.
The Asian ILCA 6 sailors, for making training and racing a joy and raising the bar every edition. So much positive energy for Asian sailing going forward!
The organisers and volunteers, for a great regatta in difficult conditions, with days of no wind and rain.
Friends and family, for the unwavering support. However much you knew, you believed, or at least made sure I felt it.
SDAT, SAI (under various schemes), YAI and the IOA for supporting athletes to achieve their dreams for the nation.

I went in with so much belief from everyone around me, and I’m sorry if I let anyone down. But I’m grateful I could fight back when it mattered.
A crack in the wall.

Momentum to build on for next season, which starts earlier than usual in Fortaleza! 🤙🏾 by @nethrakumanan

Extremely grateful and relieved to have finally qualified for the PARIS OLYMPIC GAMES!

I could not have done it without the support and backing of @media.iccsai , the tops scheme, our honorary prime minister and sport ministers for putting opportunity into sport, @SDAT @yachtingassociationofindia @dreamsportsfoundation @gosportsvoices @srmuniversityofficial @tamilnadusailingassociation

To my incredible and ever patient coaches @mon_brokman @arthur_barrue @tamaseszes_coaching
@cmphysicaltrainer @invictusperformancelab @phd_blr @aliaabreo @sanki_iyer @matyastoth_coaching who have taught me so much over the years.

Wouldn’t dare to dream without my wonderful support system back home, my parents and brother, friends and family, the @european_sailing_academy family , wellwishers and everyone who dreams a little dream and isn’t afraid to go after it with everything they’ve got. by @nethrakumanan

More bits and bobs 🫣 by @nethrakumanan

A historic podium for Nethra Kumanan.

Nethra has secured bronze in the women’s dinghy sailing event at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, delivering a performance that reflects years of patience, dedication and relentless work.

Nethra finished the two-race final series with 14 points, securing third place.

For the last four years, Invictus Performance Lab has been part of Nethra’s performance journey, working with her remotely to build and maintain the physical qualities required to compete at the highest level of sailing.

Through changing training demands, competition schedules and the evolution of her career, the focus has remained consistent: prepare, adapt, perform.

At Aichi-Nagoya, years of that work came together on the biggest stage.

Over the years, Nethra has continued to raise the bar, evolve as an athlete and push the boundaries of her performance. We are incredibly proud to have been part of that journey and to see her earn an Asian Games bronze medal.

Congratulations, Nethra. A historic performance, well earned. by @nethrakumanan
