Helping mums support their anxious kids. Teaching you
nervous system tools to help your child navigate and release Big Emotions

POSTS STORIES REELS

Your child isn’t being difficult. Read that again. 💛

The meltdowns. The worries. The “I can’t.”

It’s not bad behaviour.

It’s their nervous system asking for help.

And you can’t reason them out of it in the moment…

but you can help them feel safer — a little, every day.

That’s the Journal Tapping Method.

✍️ Write it.
✋ Tap it.
🌬️ Release it.

They write down the worry. Tap through it. And let the feeling go.

The memory stays. The charge behind it softens.

A few quiet minutes — at bedtime, after school. Little and often.

And now it’s in your pocket. Meet Nova — your calm AI tapping coach. 🤍

You’re not helpless. You just needed the right tool.

If you’re in that season where you’re trying your best but still feel like you’re guessing… you’re not alone.
So many mums aren’t struggling with love — they’re struggling with what to do in the moment when emotions take over.

What’s the biggest emotional struggle you’re facing with your child/teen right now?
Is it anxiety spirals, anger and outbursts, shutdown, school refusal, confidence, sleep, or constant reassurance?

Mums often tell me it’s not the “busy days” that break them — it’s one specific moment that keeps happening… the moment you can feel your own body go tense because you don’t know what to do next.
Not because you don’t love your child. But because you’re carrying it, trying to stay calm, trying to help… and it’s painful watching them struggle.

So I want to ask you the exact same question as the post:

Which moment breaks you the most ? — the spiral, the rage, or the shutdown?

(EFT education):
A lot of mums are shocked when they learn this: anxiety in kids can look like rage, refusal, snapping, defiance, or “I don’t care.”
That doesn’t mean your child is bad — it often means they’re overwhelmed and their system has flipped into protection mode.
EFT is useful here because it targets the felt charge in the body. Instead of arguing with the behaviour, EFT helps you tune into what’s underneath: fear, pressure, shame, embarrassment, helplessness.
When the intensity drops, the behaviour usually becomes easier to handle — because the body isn’t screaming for relief anymore. by @neurosomaticsuk

(EFT education):
When anxiety is high, your child isn’t being dramatic — their nervous system is doing its job: scanning for danger, predicting worst-case scenarios, bracing in the body.
In that state, logic often can’t “reach” them.
EFT helps because it’s a bottom-up tool: it gives the body rhythmic, soothing input through tapping, while acknowledging what’s true. Many people find that the “alarm” feeling reduces, which then makes space for breathing, thinking, and problem-solving.
EFT isn’t forcing positivity. It’s creating enough calm in the body so the brain doesn’t keep shouting emergency! at everything. by @neurosomaticsuk

When your child is spiralling, their nervous system isn’t looking for logic — it’s looking for safety.
Journal Tapping is a simple process: they “download” what’s in their head onto paper (or notes), then tap while reading it back to help the body release the emotional charge.
How to do it:
1. Write: “What’s the worst part?” (no filtering)
2. Rate intensity 0–10
3. Tap gently while reading the words out loud
4. Re-rate, and repeat until it softens by @neurosomaticsuk

If your child’s anxiety shows up as tummy aches, tears, anger, or “I can’t go”… it’s not bad behaviour — it’s a nervous system on high alert.
EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is a calming tool that combines gentle tapping on acupressure points with naming what you feel.
Here’s how to do a simple first round:
1. Rate the feeling 0–10
2. Tap the side of the hand and say: “Even though I feel ___, I’m here with myself.”
3. Tap points: eyebrow → side of eye → under eye → under nose → chin → collarbone → under arm → top of head
4. Use short phrases: “this anxiety… this dread… this tight chest…”
5. Re-rate. Often the edge softens.
You’re not forcing calm — you’re helping their body feel safe enough to settle. by @neurosomaticsuk

Many parents try endless reassuring words… but kids often still feel anxious.
Here’s why ⬇️

🧠 The amygdala fires like an alarm and tells the body to prepare for danger.
💨 The body reacts — racing heart, sweaty palms, butterflies in the tummy.
💬 Talking helps the mind, but we also need to calm the body’s alarm system.

✨ That’s where EFT tapping & nervous-system techniques come in — they use gentle touch and breath to signal safety to the body.

Anxiety spirals build fast — racing thoughts, stomach aches, tears.
Parents often feel helpless… but a simple tool in the moment can stop the climb.

✅ Try the “5-4-3-2-1” grounding game (5 things you can see… etc.)
✅ Add gentle tapping on the collarbone point while you guide them.
✅ Slow, 4-count box breathing lowers heart rate and helps them feel safe.

🌱 These small steps help shift a child’s brain from panic to calm.
