B Corp Certified!

December has felt like a massive and momentous month for us at NewGround. After a long, rigorous process, we are so proud to have achieved B Corp Certification - both an end goal and the start of things to come. We are super excited to be joining this movement with many other awesome companies using business as a force for good.

After 3 of the most challenging years that businesses like ours and so many others have had to face, this feels like a real cause for celebration. But what does B Corp mean? Basically, it legally confirms that we are a company who exists for more than just creating profit. We exist to create a positive impact in as many areas as we can - suppliers, employees, customers, environment and our personal social impact goals of providing opportunities to ex-offenders.

It took us 2 and a half years to complete, far longer than most applications. The reason for this was (surprisingly) our commitment to providing training and re-employment to those coming out of the criminal justice system. Incredibly, our application caused a ripple effect through the B Corporation and we were instrumental in a change in thinking around how companies who employ directly out of prisons can apply for their certification. An amazing outcome.

So, with 2023 just hours away, we will start this NEW year with a renewed vigour to exist as the best, most impactful version of ourselves in as many areas as we can.

Thank you all so much for your support and have a Happy NEW Year

🔦SPOTLIGHT ON🔦 @blakeskitchen.
Known everywhere for making some of the best cinnamon buns around. Trust us, they’re unreal. They have 4 sites across the Cotswolds including their newly opened HQ in Witney. Alongside their buns and banging coffee, they do an amazing brunch, perfect for those weekends with mates.
But most of all, they are just a great bunch of incredible people.
Catch them in Clanfield, Witney, Coleshill and Soho Farmhouse

This hero is heading off to @zukukacoffee to spend a few weeks on the farm with the legends who have supplied us with incredible coffee for the last 8 years. Started as a barista, moved into the roastery, now off to work on the farm. Travelling backwards down the coffee chain 👏
