POSTS STORIES REELS

I am struggling to find the words to express how much of an amazing time I had working at the Cedar Creek Inkfest this past weekend.

This is not the first tattoo convention I have attended, but it is the first one I've been able to work at. I don't typically acknowledge how much time and effort I put into doing tattoos, but the first tattoo I completed at this convention absolutely kicked my ass in the most rewarding way possible and I couldn't be more grateful.

I knocked out this massive Courage the Cowardly Dog piece as a two day sit for both Friday and Saturday. With the two full days of tattooing back to back, it took just under 23 hours to complete in total.

Patrick (my first client for this event) is an absolute tank for sitting that long, and my success this past weekend largely depended on his ability to sit under the knife. I couldn't be more stoked for you, and I am beyond thankful that you allowed me to go crazy with this tattoo and make it truly something unique.

On Sunday we entered this tattoo into the Nu Skool category for judging, and managed to take first place. Following that, this tattoo was also awarded the people's choice award which is amazing. Patrick and I couldn't have gotten that without the support of the friends and family who showed up to vote. Finally, at the end of the night, we managed to take home best in show, despite being up against some stiff competition.

I will die on the hill of awards are not what makes a tattoo great, nor do they make a tattooer great, but it was very nice to be able to win these awards for Patrick's piece, and it was nice to be recognized for the hours of work that were put into making it happen.

Being at this convention with the entire team @newlifeinkwi was a great feeling. The close quarters tattooing and comradery that comes with it is something I really enjoy. I am looking forward to future conventions with the team.

Thank you @thistwinfilms for capturing some nice photos of the tattoo as well!

Thank you all for supporting me in my career as a tattooer, and thank you mom and dad for spending time at the convention to support Tegan and I.
