TODAY opens #EarlyVoting for ALL of our Florida counties (though some started earlier). Early voting is soooooo simple and quick so just consider it a quick errand to run AND the one way you can make a HUGE difference in our state.

A lot is at stake this election and we must elect leaders who care about our state and its people (not lining their pocketbooks or doing favors for their billionaire donors who just want to use up Florida and its land for data centers and overdevelopment).

This is a website I created to share how I vote and what matters to me in this election as a lifelong Floridian. If it resonates with you - you can enter your zip code and find my recommendations for your ballot. You can also download a pdf, of those recommendations, print it and take it with you to the polls.

Please, help us #FlipFlorida 💙🇺🇸💙 by @newswithsuze

5 minutes. You can do it. @flipflorida.us for early voting locations and my ballot recommendations 🇺🇸💙💪 by @newswithsuze

It was 1988. I was a freshman in high school when my dad, a Vietnam veteran and North Florida farmer, ran for the Florida House. He won. (That’s his campaign flyer. He still has it.)

I wanted to see how laws were made, so at 16 - I became a page in the Florida House. I spent my days in the Capitol in Tallahassee delivering memos and bills to the most powerful men in the state, and enduring their eyes on my body and their comments in every elevator, every hallway, every office.

I went there to learn how laws were made. Instead, I learned what powerful men believed they were entitled to.

My dad went on to serve 7 years in the Florida House and 14 in Congress. (That’s us at his swearing-in, January 7, 1997.) And I swore I’d never be part of politics.

But over the years, I’ve watched too many elected officials, even local ones, change once they get a taste of power. They start to believe they’re untouchable. They forget the only reason they’re there: to serve the people who put them in office.

I thought I could stay out of it. But politics is in everything. The water we drink. The roads we drive. The schools our kids attend. What we pay for groceries, gas and a visit to the doctor.

That’s why I built FlipFlorida.us. Many of my friends and colleagues over the years have asked me to share how I vote, so it’s all there: my picks for candidates, judges and amendments across the state.

☕ And tomorrow, I’d love for you to vote with me.

I’m a 6th-generation Floridian. I grew up climbing giant oak trees in North Florida and spent 25 years telling stories on TV in South Florida. Now I’m telling her story.

Florida is not for sale. Not her beaches. Not her springs. Not her farms. Not her people.

So, today - on the eve that doors open in many Florida counties - I’m launching #FlipFlorida- for everyone who loves her as much as I do. 💙🇺🇸

It’s time to LOCK IN! Tomorrow it begins. Show up for her. 🏝️ by @newswithsuze

Sometimes Mother Nature sends us a full moon and a Nor’easter at the same time and we see the ocean in all her power.

What an amazing time to be alive! Recognizing the duality of how man chases power, while our beautiful Earth doesn’t chase - it just IS. Nothing is a mistake. Allow yourself to be fully immersed in life and in nature - they are both divine. ✨ by @newswithsuze

Many of the people I love were born in August. And my first born rounds out the month on August 29th. @laine.phipps has always been the smartest one in the room - observing, picking up on clues and noticing things that most people don’t notice. She doesn’t say much. She just handles things. Takes care of those she loves with such grace and love and kindness. Laine - I am so proud to be your mom. I love you with my whole heart. Happy 21st birthday, my sweet girl 🎉 Thank you for putting us on the big boat and letting us celebrate this special day with you! 😊❤️🛥️ by @newswithsuze

I woke up this morning to wish @hugo_e_bermudez a happy 60th birthday and started telling him all the things that I see in him - a man who is brilliant and funny and gives so much to those he loves. And he said to me “I am your mirror”. 🥰There is no one I’d rather be doing this life with - all the adventure, the joy and the reflection. I love you so much, Hugo Bermudez 🎉❤️🇨🇴 by @newswithsuze

17 years ago today, @tracephipps2 came into this world and my world hasn’t been the same since. He is pure love, always up for an adventure and has a smile that lights up a room. He makes life more fun. Is the leader of the pack. And is never afraid to take the dare (if money is involved!) 😂 Trace - may you feel all the love and kindness you show others. Happy Birthday! I love you so much. 🥹❤️ by @newswithsuze

This Brazilian firecracker turned 40 today, but @jessicajyotiyoga and I joke that she must have been my mother in another life. There have been many times in a yoga class or ceremony where the words coming out of her mouth or the songs she’s singing feel like a message from the Divine. I am so grateful to call her my teacher and my friend. May we all have a Jess in our lives - a guide who brings us closer to our true selves. ❤️

Happy Birthday, Jess. 🎉 by @newswithsuze
