✨ Introducing NexDance Education ✨
Where dance meets education 💃📚💻

As dance continues to disappear from mainstream schools — with GCSE & A-Level Dance no longer available in most areas — we’re here to continue to keep dance education alive and accessible.

At NexDance Education we partner with dance schools to offer students aged 12+ the chance to gain recognised qualifications in dance leadership🌟

We deliver the theory and assessments whilst students receive hands-on experience partaking, leading and assisting at their own dance school — building skills, confidence and a pathway into a career in dance or even training up your next dance teacher 💫

Dance leaders set the tone — here are 3 simple ways to lead with professionalism and unity:

1️⃣ Uniform Black Leadership T-Shirt
Wearing your black leadership tee creates a cohesive, recognisable team presence. It shows dancers who to approach and reinforces structure on the floor.

2️⃣ Hair Neat & Tidy
Clean, tidy hair helps maintain a polished look and keeps focus on your leadership — not distractions. Professional appearance builds trust instantly.

3️⃣ All Blacks
Sticking to an all-black outfit keeps the leadership team visually aligned, easy to spot, and consistent with the event’s standard.

Small details. Strong leadership. 💪🖤

Lead with confidence, and set the example.

Leadership isn’t about being the loudest voice in the room—it’s about showing up with clarity, fairness, and consistency.

When the dancers knows what to expect, trusts your decisions and feels heard, that’s real leadership in action.

✔ Be clear
✔ Be fair
✔ Be consistent

Small habits. Big impact.

Great leaders in dance aren’t just made on the floor — they’re shaped through understanding, reflection, and practice. 💃🕺

Our Dance Leadership Programme combines theory and practical learning to develop confident, capable leaders who can inspire others.

✨ Theory builds the foundation — exploring leadership styles, communication, group dynamics, and planning.
✨ Practical brings it to life — applying those skills in real dance settings, leading sessions, and learning through experience.

By blending both, participants don’t just learn what good leadership looks like — they practice how to deliver it effectively.

This balanced approach helps dancers:
• Build confidence in leading groups
• Improve communication and teamwork 🤝
• Develop creativity and problem-solving
• Gain real leadership experience in action

Because strong dance leaders need both knowledge and application — and our programme delivers both. 🌟

Some of our leaders will be moving into show prep after half term.

Being a dance leader during show prep is all about supporting, motivating, and helping everyone shine. It’s where teamwork really comes together.

Here are 3 tips for dance leaders helping with show work:

✨ Know the routine
Be confident with the choreography so you can help others quickly and clearly.

✨ Watch the details
Help with timing, spacing, and performance — small improvements make a big difference.

✨ Encourage stage confidence
Remind dancers to smile, project energy, and enjoy the moment. Confidence brings routines to life.

Let’s support and inspire our dancers🎭🎶

💡 Leadership Tip Tuesday

For every correction, give TWO positives.

Great leaders don’t just point out what needs improvement—they build confidence, inspire growth and recognize effort. When you lead with encouragement, you create an environment where children feel empowered to learn, take risks and succeed.

We’re committed to developing leaders who lift others up while helping them grow.

✨ Challenge for today:
Before offering feedback, share two genuine positives. Watch how it changes the conversation. by @nexdanceeducation

Corrections are key 🔑

As leaders don’t be afraid to be correct what could be better, help teach and guide that next generation, that’s what makes you a leader 🫶 by @nexdanceeducation

When leaders are creating choreography, here are 3 key things to consider:

1️⃣ Keep it clear and achievable

Choreography should be clear and dancers should feel confident wit the movement

2️⃣ Showcase every dancer

Think about formations, transitions, and moments where each dancer can feel seen.

3️⃣ Use the song lyrics as a starting point

Choose music, style, and intensity that suits the group’s ability and personality. When dancers feel connected to the choreography, their confidence naturally grows.

Great choreography isn’t just about the steps, it’s about creating an experience dancers will enjoy and most of all have fun! 💫 by @nexdanceeducation

Leadership Tip Tuesday 💡

Great leaders don’t just give instructions—they set the standard.

Be a role model through:
✔️ Punctuality – show respect for time
✔️ Uniform – present yourself with pride
✔️ Attitude – lead with positivity and purpose

Your team will follow what you do, not just what you say.

✨ Participant Testimonial – Olivia ✨

“One of the things I’ve enjoyed most about the Leadership Program is the volunteering. It has helped teach me how to become a good leader and support others. I chose to take part in this program because teaching dance is something I’d love to do in the future.”

It’s inspiring to see young people like Olivia developing confidence, leadership skills, and a passion for giving back to the community while working toward their future goals. 💃🌟

✨ Demonstrate and explain clearly
✨ Use consistent terminology
