Yesterday, I proudly received the President and leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) on a powerful and timely courtesy visit.

At a critical moment when the voices of the people of Eket Federal Constituency can no longer be ignored or sidelined, this visit sends a clear and undeniable message: our people demand representation that is active, courageous, and uncompromising. The era of political negligence and empty promises is over.

Significantly, this visit also served as a loud and unmistakable declaration by the student body—endorsing the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD. In the same breath, they passed a vote of confidence and expressed resounding support for my ambition to represent the good people of Eket Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

I stand firmly with the people, fully aware of their struggles, their aspirations, and their rightful expectations of leadership that delivers. This engagement with NANS is not just symbolic; it is a call to action and a reminder that the energy of our youth will continue to shape the future we must boldly fight for.

The mission is clear: to defend the interests of our people, amplify their voices, and ensure that Eket Federal Constituency gets the attention, development, and respect it deserves.

NFSAN FROWNS AT THE GRUESOME MURDER OF LEBABATU, CALLS FOR IMMEDIATE INVESTIGATION.

The National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN) expresses deep shock, outrage, and sadness over the gruesome and unfortunate murder of a young lady identified as Lebabatu, whose lifeless body was reportedly discovered yesterday in Gauraka, Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State.

This barbaric and inhumane act is not only a direct attack on the dignity and safety of women and girls in our society, but also a painful reminder of the growing insecurity and violence faced by vulnerable citizens across the country.

NFSAN stands in solidarity with the family, friends, and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time. We share in their grief and pray for the repose of her soul while seeking justice on her behalf.

We hereby call on the Nigeria Police Force and all relevant security agencies to immediately launch a thorough, transparent, and uncompromising investigation into this tragic incident. The perpetrators of this evil act must be identified, apprehended, and brought to justice without delay. Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done, in order to restore public confidence and serve as a deterrent to others.

Furthermore, we urge the government at all levels to intensify efforts in ensuring the safety and protection of women and girls, particularly in communities where such vulnerabilities are prevalent. Preventive measures, awareness campaigns, and strengthened community policing must be prioritized.

The National Female Students Association of Nigeria remains committed to advocating for the rights, safety, and protection of female students and all Nigerian women. We will not relent in speaking against violence and demanding accountability wherever injustice occurs.

Enough is enough.
The lives of Nigerian women matter.

NFSAN LEADERSHIP FELICITATES WITH MUSLIM FAITHFUL ON THE OCCASION OF EID-EL-FITR.

The leadership of NFSAN sincerely felicitates with Muslim faithful across the nation as they mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan and celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.

Ramadan has been a period of reflection, sacrifice, charity, and devotion to Allah (SWT).

We are encouraged by the spirit of patience, unity, and prayers demonstrated during this period, and we believe it will continue to guide our nation toward better days.

Despite the challenges facing our country, God has remained merciful to Nigeria. I therefore urge us all not to relent, but to continue living by the values of compassion, selflessness, and generosity that Ramadan has taught us.

May Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and acts of ibadah, and grant us lasting peace, progress, and prosperity as a people.

Eid Mubarak to you all.

Warm regards,
Faith Progress Istifanus
President, National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN).

THE LEADERSHIP OF NFSAN CONDEMNS THE BRUTAL MURDER OF A MOTHER AND SIX CHILDREN IN KANO; CALLS FOR URGENT SECURITY OVERHAUL AND COMMUNAL VIGILANCE

The National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN), under the leadership of Faith Progress Istifanus, has received with profound shock and utter devastation the news of the brutal, senseless, and barbaric killing of a woman and her six innocent children in the Dorayi Chiranchi Quarters of Kano State.

This act is not merely a crime; it is a profound assault on human dignity, the sanctity of the family, and the very fabric of our society. Our hearts are broken, and we stand in deep mourning with the bereaved family, the community of Dorayi Chiranchi, and all people of conscience in Kano State and across Nigeria. We pray for the souls of the departed and for the fortitude needed to bear this irreplaceable loss.

While we take note of the condolences and directives issued by the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to the police, we find that such reactions have become a tragic routine in the face of our nationwide security freefall. Condolences are no longer sufficient. Directives without systemic change are inadequate. This horrific incident underscores the catastrophic failure of the existing security architecture to protect the most vulnerable in their own homes.

Therefore, I categorically call out both the Kano State Government and the Federal Government of Nigeria. You have a primary, non-negotiable constitutional duty: the protection of lives and property. This duty has been breached repeatedly. We demand an immediate, transparent, and sweeping overhaul of security strategies. We demand accountability for this failure and a clear, actionable plan to prevent a recurrence. The blood of Nigerian women and children must no longer be the price for our collective insecurity.

In the face of this glaring institutional gap, I strongly advocate for and encourage all communities across Nigeria to take proactive, lawful steps to safeguard their own environments. We must support the establishment of properly regulated, community-based vigilante groups. These groups, operating in close collaboration with by @nfsan_national

On behalf of the National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN), we acknowledge and commend the landmark educational initiative launched by the Aliko Dangote Foundation on 11th December 2025 at Eko Hotel, Lagos. Our President was honoured to be part of the distinguished delegation present at this historic event alongside other student bodies such as NANS, NAPS, NANCES, & NAUS.
Alhaji Aliko Dangote’s announcement to dedicate 25% of his personal wealth to charity, with an initial commitment of $700 million (over N1 trillion) towards educational development over the next decade, is truly transformative. This deliberate inclusion is a powerful step toward bridging the gender gap in education and empowering the women who will shape Nigeria’s future.

The scale of the initiative is profound. It is set to support 45,000 new beneficiaries annually from 2026, scaling up to 155,000 students per year by its fourth year, with the goal of impacting over 1.3 million students across every local government area in Nigeria within a decade.
The Aliko Dangote STEM Scholars Programme, which will sponsor 30,000 students yearly, and the Aliko Dangote Technical Scholars Programme, supporting 5,000 students annually in technical and vocational institutions, are critical interventions.
The event garnered unprecedented national support, witnessed by the presence of His Excellency, Vice President Kashim Shettima, the Ministers of Education, numerous State Governors, traditional rulers, and captains of industry.
We also recognise and appreciate the supportive leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose administration’s policy environment enables such large-scale, private-sector-driven interventions in education.
The Aliko Dangote Foundation’s commitment, especially its conscious effort to uplift female students, is not merely philanthropy; it is a strategic investment in the intellectual and professional capacity of Nigerian women. It signals a new chapter for our nation; one defined by inclusive growth, equal opportunity, and a shared belief in an educated, prosperous, and gender equitable Nigeria. @queen_natash31 @@nans_digital_media @alikodangotefoundation by @nfsan_national
