The Legacy Lives On. With or Without the Title.

To SGA — my first home, my first family on campus, and the community that changed my life forever — thank you. Thank you for every opportunity, every lesson, every memory, and every moment that led me here. Being elected and trusted to serve as your President for three consecutive years is an honor that will always mean more to me than words could ever explain.

I still can’t believe that a freshman who simply loved this community enough to fight for it ended up serving as SGA President for the rest of his college career. None of that happens alone. From Day 1, so many of you believed in me before I fully believed in myself. Every repost, every share, every vote, every conversation, and every word of encouragement mattered more than you know.

To every member of my team, past and present, thank you for everything. None of what we accomplished would have been possible without each of you. I was incredibly blessed to lead alongside such passionate, driven, and dynamic student leaders every single year. Together, we didn’t just lead — we raised the standard. We created something that will continue long after all of us have moved on from these roles.

Because titles eventually end, but impact never does.

What we built together will outlive any position. The culture, the change, the memories, the relationships, the work — that becomes the legacy. And the beautiful thing about legacy is that it continues to live on, even when the title no longer belongs to you. I don’t need to overexplain what these years meant, because the work has always spoken for itself. And it always will.

Thank you for trusting me to serve as your President for three years. I’m beyond proud of everything we accomplished together and proud to leave Pace better than I found it. Serving this community has truly been the privilege of a lifetime.

Officially signing out as your first 3x SGA President.
Forever proud. Forever a Setter. Forever SGA 💙 by @nicholasbentlee

In an effort to highlight the people who are leading colleges and universities across the nation, we at Watch The Yard reached out to Pace University Pleasantville and did an interview with Nicholas Diaz (@Nicholasbentlee), the 2025–2026 Student Government President.

The position of student government president is a highly respected role and there is a special pride that one takes in being elected by their peers to lead. Nicholas, who is majoring in Digital Journalism, is from The Bronx, New York.

We interviewed Nicholas Diaz and talked to him about his goals, leadership journey, and what it means to serve as Student Government President during the 2025–2026 school year.
