Our watches take time to make by hand and the spirit of that comes through in an object that has a soul and life of its own by @nicholasscarpinato

I made this series when I was 17. It was one of my first, and I had no training. I used a camera I found in my basement, made the sets from sheets and objects around my family’s home, and lit everything with yellow household lamps.

Looking back, it reminds me that you really don’t need much to make something. I’m so thankful for how open I was creatively at that age. It still surprises me that I made these before I really knew anything about art or photography. by @nicholasscarpinato
