God Why Am I Like This A collection of fine art about being queer and Christian and the complicated inner relationship between them. I designed this gallery not to be argumentative but to spark conversation that will lead to understanding. I have felt most loved when I felt understood. Navigating same-sex attraction while growing up in the church often left me feeling alone and confused. Nobody in my life was talking about the experiences I was facing, so with nobody to go to, Thad to pave my own way. When I finally found people who truly understood and respected me, I felt seen, heard, and profoundly loved. I want to invite viewers to take in this gallery and not only see the world from my perspective but also see how my experiences relate to theirs. Hopefully, from this experience, viewers can take what they learned here and make someone else feel the same incredible love I have found. by @nick_cox_art
Day 1: “Innocence” (2024) I remember how l viewed the church when I was first introduced to the story of Jesus and the Word. It felt pure, like a freshly lit candle, feeling the warmth of the flame for the first time. I was in awe of God and thought that the church I was growing so accustomed to was perfect and unblemished. Come back tomorrow for day 2!! #art#artgallery#youngartist#christian#lgbtq#gaychristian#student#artstudent by @nick_cox_art

Hi! I’m a 20 year old art student and this is the largest canvas I have ever worked on so please consider joining me on this journey as I challenge myself and paint this giant canvas! by @nick_cox_art
I decided to challenge myself to paint FAST cause I’m a bit slow and meticulous and wanted to try to trust my instincts. Overall I’m pretty stoked how this turned out and definitely recommend it!! by @nick_cox_art
