Having fun with familiar songs but with a Spanish twist 😊🚣 Our Spanish songboard is still a favourite even though we don't go to a playgroup anymore 😜 What are your go-to simple Spanish songs to share with kids? We'd love to learn more! ❤️ #spanishathome #learnspanish #spanishforkids by @nicobellajoy
Author visit 🥰🦘 This kinder has a supermarket play area set up with cash registers, bags, food etc. They are using this opportunity to share and include the languages of the children's families. I loved sharing my book and introducing the children to a little bit of Spanish language through storytelling. Thank you for having me!! I was so surprised to see a special table set up just for Nene role-play after the story 🥰🦘 If you are a school or kinder teacher and would like to share a story in Spanish with your group, send me a message. I would love to visit! #authorvisit #bilingualkids #earlylearnıng #language by @nicobellajoy
Busy mum of 3, still learning that doing something for yourself is good for the soul. Thank you Onceuponcon for allowing me to focus on my thing for a weekend! More bookish developments to come, can't wait! Love that it was a super busy Friday and Saturday but then we still had Sunday family time and the weather was perfect 😍🌞 Nene has found a new home in Hampton VIC 🦘and I have a very full heart from an amazing weekend all around! 🥰 #newstore #beachday☀️ #familyfun by @nicobellajoy
What a boring photo of such a bright, colourful and inspiring few days!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I was honestly trying so hard to absorb EVERYTHING that I just didn't take many photos. From the learning, inspiration and laughs from the amazing guest speakers, to connecting with authors I knew and meeting new ones I didn't. @once.upon.con again was the best self-publishing author event, full of supportive people, people wanting to learn it all and get their stories out there and experienced people so generous in sharing their wisdom, prior experiences and tricks of the trade. What a community to be a part of. So grateful 🥰 #kidlit #childrensbooks #authorlife by @nicobellajoy
Well, @onceuponacon truly delivered!! ✨️📚💕 I had the chance to meet some of my absolute faves in the kidlit world, including the amazing @scottcreates (who, FYI, is just as warm, kind and lovely as I imagined… still kinda freaking out that you have a copy of my book! 🙈🤯), the powerhouse @adamwallacestuff, who was SO funny, engaging and full of wisdom… as was the one and only @adrianbeckbooks! Sadly, Adrian mysteriously disappeared into Nowhere House before I could build up the courage to ask for a photo (spooky 👻) A fateful book swap with @forellie.aus led me to discover her incredible book, Where Is Ellie's Hair?, supporting such an important cause. As an oncology doctor, seeing children affected by cancer represented in literature means a lot to me 🙏💕 Finally meeting the sweetest @barbaracookchildrensauthor and @nicobellajoy after our lovely chats was extra special! 🫶 Loved seeing familiar faces from the Insta kidlit community (hiiii @krystal.wade.author 👋🥰) and catching up with beautiful new friends I've made along the way, including @evolvekindly and the author of Howie's Kindness Club! 🐈🌈💝 A HUGE thank you to @onceuponacon for bringing together such an incredible bunch of humans and creating a space that feels so welcoming and supportive💖 Feeling very lucky to be part of this wonderful community. I'm SO inspired by all of you!! 🥹📚💕✨️ #onceuponacon #kidlit #childrensbookstagram #australianauthors #writersofinstagram by @nicobellajoy
Writing a children's book is not an easy thing... Sharing this journey with many others, I can assure you we all experience self-doubt and fear... I began writing this rhyming beach picture story book when Nico was so little! (He's nearly 6 now! 🫣) I have written and rewritten, self edited and let it sit in my notebook for a long time while I wrote Spanish books instead. I'm excited to soon be an author of an English children's book and share it with everyone! So many family and friends have supported my Spanish book adventures without really understanding or knowing if my books are any good 🤣🥰 (Luckily many native speakers have assured me they are!) My amazing illustrator is working her magic once again - stay tuned for some sneak peeks!! 😁 This book is happening!! 🎉 My "How I became a self-published author" blog post is on my website - link in bio #selfpublishing #selfpublishedauthor #childrensbook by @nicobellajoy
To me, the BEACH is family holidays, laughter and fun in the sun...❤️🌊 All of my childhood holidays involved the beach; whether we were exploring Philip island, jumping waves in Rye, building sandcastles in Inverlock, or floating down the Murray River... ✨I treasure these childhood memories. My hope for this book is to celebrate the little moments that make a beach adventure so magical. I want every child who reads my book to experience the sense of wonder, fun and joy that a day at the beach can bring. ✨Moments today - memories that will last a lifetime! P.S thanks for mum for the old photos hehe #beachlover #childhood #childhoodmemories by @nicobellajoy
My first English children's book is working its way through my self-publishing process!! I'm so excited to share more of this project with you over the coming months. 🌊 Do you have a little beach lover in your life? 🏖️ What's their favourite thing to do at the beach? #selfpublishing #beachlover #childrensbooks by @nicobellajoy
We experienced a wonderful morning today at @mangonimerchants in Braeside Victoria. This family-run cafe has a fantastic vibe, delicious food, friendly people, interesting wood creations, games, products for sale from local small businesses and books for children in Italian and recently also in Spanish too. Definitely recommend coming to this gorgeous place if you're in the area and check out their selection of children's language books and try some yummy treats! 🥰 Always a pleasure to share a shelf with you @colibri.mum - thank you for the introduction, and spotted your cards too @duo.kiddo. Nene is in good company! 🦘 Mangoni Family Merchants ✨ 8B Citrus St, Braeside VIC #supportlocal #italian #spanish #kidfriendly by @nicobellajoy
