🫧🤍 by @nicolam.yoga

lately I was feeling a little uninspired with the space that I currently have to practice in but today felt different…

I don’t know if it was the candle I lit to make it feel like “my scared space” or the pep talk I had with @fynnmccarthydriver last night 🙈

a reminder that its not always going to be the most PERFECT space to practice in and to just make it as perfect as it can be to help get you on the mat.

Lighting a candle nearby
Setting an intention before practicing
Putting headphones on to block out distractions

These are the things that help me 🩷

p.s watching this video back & seeing that gorgeous light reflecting on the wall makes it pretty perfect to me✨

Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing) 🧘‍♀️

Probably my fave type of pranayama because it just soothes me so much I feel grounded and so calm afterwards

Remember to always start your inhales on the left and finish with the exhales on the left - try just 5 mins of this & I promise you will feel suuuuuuper relaxed

Left nostril (ida nadi) feminine/cooling
Right nostril (pingala nadi) masculine/heating

Have you tried this before? 🤍

honestly, so much growth came from taking this trip 😍

from studying yoga in India, to teaching classes in Sri Lanka, what a time 🌴✨🌞

looking back on these memories gives me so much excitement for what’s to come ✨

Ashtanga and the breath 🌬️

I love the saying that without ujjayi, then Ashtanga would be callisthenics or some form of physical exercise

Whist it does definitely give you a full body opening & strengthening, the breath is what gives it that complete “work-in” ~ falling deeply into a meditative state, or movement meditation so there is a quietening of the mind, creating presence and calm 🧘‍♀️

been working on my manifesting lately ✨

yoga giving me all the tools to trust within 🪞

reminder~ your time on earth is limited, so satisfy your soul, not society 💛

all of the external forms are lovely but the real work is your inner connection

took me some time to build this community and start this passion project but I’m so glad I did🫶 I love what it brings to others, the moments of bliss & stillness, the “omg I can’t believe I can do that” moments.

“love is sharing your knowledge, there’s so much to gain”

access my classes by joining the online community & be apart of something that will only inspire and motivate you to grow and be free 🕉️🦋✨

i truly believe devoting yourself to a spiritual practice, like yoga will only bring you so much joy from within

no longer looking for the external to give you what you think you need but understanding that you have all the tools to give you that happiness

yoga helps to get you there 🪷

the more i practice, the more i understand

how my body responds
how my breath controls
how it all just aligns

again
& again
& again
